Wonderful resort! The beds and linens are super comfy! The room was a bit dated but very clean! The breakfast is fantastic with omelet station and really good French toast! The front desk staff are very helpful and management is top notch, the called and emailed several days before our Memorial Day weekend stay to confirm and see if there was anything else we needed! Perfect!

Room Tip: Ours was perfect facing the lake

If you are hiking the AT and need a luxury break, this is a great spot in a neat town. Condos are a good deal for families. Hiking fishing golfing are all nearby, and this is a five star type property for sure.

We have been coming here for the past 7 years with my in-laws and have stayed in the condominiums. The grounds are perfectly kept and incredibly beautiful. The kids' camp was so fun, my kids did not want to leave, and the staff is super friendly. We used the trails to Bass Lake, the pool, tennis courts, and fishing ponds. The food in the lodge is mediocre, but you can't beat the view or the waitstaff. Our only complaint is that the resort makes it very difficult to do long term rentals, which must be arranged by the General Manager, who was unable to return my mother-in-law's emails or phone messages. It is much easier to go through a local rental company. All in all we look forward to returning next year.

From the moment we arrived, the staff made our visit special. We stayed in the Bob Timberlake Inn which is billed as a B&B. We are not B&B fans, but took our friend's word that we would like it. Well, we LOVED it! Our room overlooked the lake with a full wall of windows which opened to the mountain breezes. There were 6 units in the private inn, but we had the floor to ourselves until the last night of our visit. A pantry was available to us which contained a Kuerig coffeemaker & many coffee & tea flavor options. A fridge held water & coke products. And a freezer held Ben & Jerry's ice cream in 4 oz cups. The breakfast in Timberlake's was wonderful with the greatest omelets made-to-order that we've had in a long time. The spa, where we had massages, was small & could probably use some enlarging, but everyone there was interested in our happiness & comfort. Our room was decorated by Bob Timberlake with heavy drapes & bedspread & lots of wood on the walls (hiding the closet door in the pattern of wood). All in all, a very elegant room & a wonderful place to stay if you want to feel pampered & cared about.

The grounds, including a very scenic lake, are exceptionally well maintained... very much like staying in a mountain park/garden. Large 2 bedroom times share unit is very comfortable, clean and has several nice upgrades including new kitchen and baths, as well as as a private spa room with top of the line Jacuzzi. Recreation center is very clean with heated indoor pool. Spa has a full range of services. With nice resort restaurant and bar on site, we never left the property several days. Added bonus... walking distance to downtown Blowing Rock, Moses Cones Park and miles of trails, and shopping outlet... so we didn't use the car very often.

Room Tip: Variety of accommodations on property.

This was one of the nicest places we have ever spent the night, We had a terrific room overlooking the lake, the staff was great, the breakfast the next morning was fantastic, one of the best omelets ever! The only disappointment was we had only booked one night because we had to visit family further north the next day. We did not make use of the spa and several other activities because of limited time there. It is also a great place to take the kids. You can rent paddle boats and fishing equipment. It is on the Maine Street of Blowing Rock so you can walk to all the shops.

Room Tip: Definitely spend the extra to have a view of the lake. The rooms have a lovely balcony to sit and h...

Our time at Chetola was amazing!! The rooms are amazing and spotless. I didn't even have to wear socks on the floor, which I am known for. We loved the linens so much, that we bought some for at home. I think I gained 5 pounds from the buffet breakfast (make sure you try the triple berry pie if they have it - yes, for breakfast) to the delicious evening meals. The surrounding environment - trails, Grandfather Mt. - make the days spectacular. There are so many options to choose from. At night, sitting around the fire pit is a great way to meet new friends. The employees want to make your stay a memory.
I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, that this is our new yearly vacation place. It had been Hawaii for many years. Chetola is our new Hawaii.

Room Tip: If you want a special treat with your spouse, ask to be placed in the Bob Timberlake Inn. A condo w...
