We stayed 2 nights at the Victorian Inn in NC in October. The location is great, and Ted was more than helpful, but we felt the room was not up to par for the price we paid. The continental breakfast was subpar and sparce in selection. We looked at other places while we were there, and found much nicer places for our next stay.

Room Tip: Try to choose a room where you can hear the TV while the heat is running.

I am sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay.

I would appreciate some feedback on what you didn't like about the Continental breakfast. We do make fresh muffins or pastries each day. Our website does share exactly what the offerings are and I make sure we have all of that each day.

Some of our rooms are larger. All have different furnishings and our website does show exactly what the furnishings are for each room so most people choose what suites them best.

I am sorry you didn't address your concerns while you were here thereby giving me the opportunity to have you leave satisfied.

Blessings
Ted

We've just spent $358.54 for a two-night stay at the Victorian Inn in Blowing Rock, NC. There was a time when an "inn" or (as the Victorian Inn advertizes itself) a "Bed and Breakfast" meant congenial hosts, a nice room, and a good, cooked breakfast: all this is why one pays much more than for, say, an average roadside motel.

Admittedly, this Inn's website says that it now serves only a "continental breakfast," but even that term is an exaggeration for the poor-quality fare on offer. As for the hosts, they were hardly ever there. And yes, while the lodging was nice enough, even the average roadside motel will service one's room daily, whereas when we came back from a day out for our second night there, we had to make the bed ourselves.

Perhaps we were just unlucky: other reviewers offer high praise to the Victorian Inn. But on the basis of our general experience of Blowing Rock, there are better places to stay that will give much more value for money.

I am so sorry you did not enjoy your stay.
We do not advertise ourselves as a B and B although there are 3rd party sites that do so.
We are an Inn that offers a continental breakfast of fresh made muffins, cereal, bananas, juice, coffee and teas. Since we do not "live" on the property and our experience over the last year is most people are very active when they come to Blowing Rock - we don't generally hang out there. Not much to do sitting around all day. Primarily we are there for check in, breakfast and I usually stop by at least one other time during the afternoon. The other thing we learned from early on is that most people coming to visit us are coming for a "special" getaway and want their privacy. So as we share when people check in we don't do much for the room for a 2 night stay unless requested. The room basically becomes your private getaway haven.
I apologize that we did not meet your expectations but hope that you will return and let us do our best to meet whatever expectations you might have.

We were staying in North Carolina with a relative and having a trip out visiting Asheville and Blowing Rock and staying in B&B's so that we could meet other American people.
The Victorin Inn in Blowing Rock was a great place to stay.
Ted welcomed us and showed us to our lovely room on the first floor. We had a balcony where we sat with a glass of wine and enjoyed watching the setting sun - it was perfect after a busy day driving The Parkway and stopping at just about every view point along the way to admire the scenery.
After changing we walked into the small town to find a restaurant for dinner. There was plenty of choice and the walk to the main street is only about 5 minutes.
Our Room had the most comfortable bed and plenty of space and air con if needed and was lovely and clean.
Breakfast was served in a dining room in the garden and was good. It would have been nice to have china not paper plates but we did understand the rules regarding the catering facilities. The wonderful freshly baked danish pastries made up for this, though!
We had a lovely stay at The Victorian Inn and will certainly be back when we visit Blowing Rock again.

We were at the Victorian Inn for a weekend and had a great experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and tasteful. The rooms also have private entrances, which was a big plus! Ted was a great host and very accommodating. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

We had a lovely two-night stay at the Victorian Inn. The innkeeper, Ted, was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and a really nice guy. Our room was spacious, charming, very clean, very comfortable, and quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: There is one room that is actually a separate little cottage - would highly recommend it.

I had the opportunity to stay at this quaint Inn for one night. It was very clean and conveniently located to the Blowing Rock shops and restaurants. Ted was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable and it had all the conveniences, including wi-fi........I would highly recommend it anyone who wants a homey and clean place with all the necessities in a quiet location.
