“Nice stay in a charming area”
Reviewed 6 September 2012

The Ridgeway Inn is in a great location - walking distance from the charming stores and restaurants of Blowing Rock. The rooms were clean and comfy and the continental breakfast was very impressive. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. I thought I had lost a necklace and they went above and beyond to help me find it! The only tiny complaint I had was that there were no full length mirrors in the rooms, but overall it was a wonderful stay!

This was our second stay at the Ridgeway Inn. First stay was in the Waunahousee suite last Fall which was fabulous. This stay was in a regular room with two queen beds and at $159.00 per night we thought the room was quaint but a bit of a disappointment. The room was smaller than I expected and the window unit a/c didn't keep our room cool enough during the night. There was dried toothpaste on the holder from a prior guest as well as dried soapy residue in the soap dish from a prior guest. The bathroom door would only stay open if you nudged the power strip over that was in the floor to use it as a door stop. The beds had great linens and were very comfortable. The staff was great too. I'm sure the price had a lot to do with the Inn's location and not just what the room amenities offered. We likely will stay there again but will try a different type of room next time.

We stayed in the Yonalossee suite. It had a fridge, microwave, and a sitting area (no kitchen). I would have liked a DVD player for the one night it rained, but we found other things to do.

Located right in town, we were able to walk everywhere for meals and for shopping. The room was very cozy and clean. I loved the Tazo teas they served for breakfast. We are thinking of returning.

We stayed for 4 nights and the location was excellent. It was only 2 - 3 minutes from the shops, breakfast spots, nice restaurants and early evening outdoor music options at local restaurants and hotels. Three of the nights were in a suite that was roomy, clean and very comfortable (tall people be careful because the roof angels in certain parts of room can be a challenge but not a big deal). The first night we booked after the initial booking and our suite wasn't available to we stayed in the Perfect Moment cottage. That was very disappointing. AC unit didn't work so a wind AC unit was in but that rattled on and off during the night. In addition, there were several very large cobwebs all over and it was difficult to understand how housekeeping could have missed so many (again, large) cobwebs when cleaning it.

We stayed here for a nice weekend trip to Blowing Rock, we were in the "Perfect Moment Cottage". It was great for two people, the location is outstanding, you are right on the main street in town.

They also have a continental breakfast in the main building, it is simple foods but it was good.

We booked the "deluxe queen" via internet where the site showed "only 5 rooms left at this price". Check in went well and our room was clean. The room was not deluxe, but comfortable for our one night stay. The bed/mattress was pretty old and had little support but, once again, for one night was ok. The location is terrific because you can walk main street and come back to enjoy the wine and cheese reception (5-6 PM). There were a total of 6 people at the wine and cheese gathering, but the environment was pleasant and the price was right (free).
No problem with parking because, unlike the web site admonition, there were plenty of rooms available. In fact, only about 10 guests the night we stayed.
The continental breakfast was basic and very good (Comfort Inn type offerings with microwave and toaster oven for warming). We really appreciated Elena (?) for coming in early so we could eat and then check out in time for our tee time in Boone.
Not pretentious, ut a good basic spot in Blowing Rock.

We loved the Ridgeway Inn...convenient to downtown shopping and dining, decorative and inviting environments, friendly and accommodating staff. We plan to stay here on future trips to Blowing Rock. Our only challenge was finding a space for parking when arriving late in the evening, but we managed. Very happy with our experience at the Ridgeway Inn.
