This was our second stay at Gideon Ridge Inn. We love it! The setting in the Blue Ridge Mountains is beautiful. The inn is rustic and cozy. The bedrooms are very comfortable. The staff is very hospitable. We will definitely stay again.

My husband and I decided to take a much needed date night. I love the Blowing Rock area and researched the area and discovered this gem and decided to give it a try. We were amazed. It truly is an amazing B&B. We got the Grandfather Mountain Suite. Very disappointed that it was foggy and we could not enjoy the view but we really enjoyed the room. We will definitely stay again!

Were suppose to stay for the weekend 11-29/30.
Stayed 1 night. Froze our tale off and got sick from the cold room.
Stayed in the Grandfather view room, no insulation in the walls, heat would run room would get hot then the heat would cut off and you could feel the cold come back like the door was open to the outside. You could touch the wall and feel the cold just like you were outside. I'm very surprised that a place with the reputation it has would rent a room like this in the winter. I can see it being OK in the summer but it should be against the law to rent a room like this in the winter. I guess some people or companies will do anything for a dollar. The staff were very nice that the only good thing I can say. Not enough parking, they serve dinner to other people who are not staying at the Inn. Had to wait almost 30 minutes for someone to leave to get a space to park. There is no other place to park unless you want to walk 1/4 of a mile, guess that all about the money too.

Room Tip: I find another place all together

There was obviously a problem with your stay, and for that, we are truly sorry. It is our overriding goal to make every guest's stay as perfect as we can make it. In this case, there was no communication regarding these issues between the guests and the staff from check-in to the next morning when they left.

The Grandfather View room has a picture window looking directly at Grandfather Mountain, from which direction the cold winter winds come. Next to the window is a gas log fireplace which provides ample heat to overcome the coldest nights. In addition, the room is equipped with a built in, forced air furnace with thermostat to maintain the temperature of the room when the gas logs are not in use.

We are aware of the parking problem when dinner guests fill up spots normally used by inn guests. Our staff regularly will hold keys and park cars or move cars to make room for guest parking. We are sorry that you were not aware of that.

We do take responsibility for the failure of communication. We attempt to see each guest on their leaving or coming back to the inn and to find out if everything is good in their room. We have no way of knowing whether or not this was done, and we apologize. We thank everyone for their comments and we take them all very seriously.

We had a recent gathering of extended family cousins. We had the whole inn to ourselves. The food was wonderful, staff extremely helpful, and location beautiful. The rooms are large well furnished and beds very comfortable with premium linens. We could not have been more pleased with our time at Gideon Ridge Inn.

Room Tip: Get a room with access to the porch.

We stayed 2 nights back in October & had an amazing stay. The staff are all very nice & helpful.
Our room the "Colonial" was cozy & warm. We had a great porch that led out to the back yard of the property. The food in the restaurant at night was amazing. Everything local & fresh. After having dinner there the first night we booked dinner for the second night also. The chef came out & spoke to us after dinner & was very nice & friendly. We will return. Highly recommended!

Very comfortable and quiet, fantastic views, relaxing. Beautiful, classic bathrooms. The breakfast was good, not great, but I'm not complaining. All in all, well worth the high price. We will be back.

VERY amazing weekend getaway with my fiance. The attention to detail was amazing from the wonderful Inn Keeper Ms Anne whom greeted us upon arriving after 8pm and giving us a quick tour of the grounds and fresh ice for our room and her service the following day for Breakfast. The nightly turn-down was a treat w the little cookies and fresh wine glasses daily and thick blankets available if you wanted to relax outside and enjoy the mountain views. All around the grounds is gorgeous and we felt like it was the perfect amount of relaxing with an old vintage feel accommodated with modern amenities. We stayed in the Victorian Room and the 2 fireplaces; one in the bedroom and other in bath very nice also. Only thing I might change is the hot water supply. The larger Japanese style tub would deplete of hot water before fully filled; however, a nightly bath was wonderful regardless . We enjoyed one evening meal there which the chef did amazing no complaints :)!
Overall highly recommend as a quaint quiet peaceful Inn.
