Another great stay at Gideon inn. My wife and I decided to celebrate our three year anniversary where we were married and it could not have been more perfect. From the minute you walk into the inn you feel relaxed and though brief, like there are no worries of the fast pace that we all get caught up in.

Although our favorite room is the sunrise, it was booked so we stayed in the carriage room which has its own entrance. I have stayed in three different rooms at the inn and the bedding in all are superb and each one has its own character.

I highly recommend this inn for anyone looking for a romantic peaceful getaway.

One last comment, if you have a chance dine at the inn. You will not find a better meal anywhere in town and the bottles of wine are reasonably priced.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great but if you are an early riser you have to check out the sunrise room. You will not ever find a more magical place to watch the sun come up over the mountains.

Great porch to watch the sun set relaxing with a cocktail or glass of wine. Cozy room. Quiet. Restful sleep. Perfect place for an early riser who like to watch a sunrise. Splendid breakfast. Wonderful dinner at the inn and as a guest, you may bring your special bottle of wine without a corkage fee. Will be back for sure. If you go to Blowing Rock, this IS the place to stay.

My husband found this B&B and reserved it for our 20th anniversary. It is lovely. We loved our room, which had a fireplace and very nice antique furniture. Comfortable bed. We had a private patio, though it was a little cool for it. Our bathroom also had a fireplace and a Japanese soaking tub. We were in the Victorian Room. Afternoon tea was served in the library. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. We really liked the apple cake with burnt brown sugar bourbon gelato and caramel sauce. Breakfast was delicious. The views of the mountains from the Inn are breathtaking. Service was great.

Room Tip: We loved the Victorian room but we saw about 5 other rooms that were very nice too.

Lovely spot. Not close enough to walk anywhere, but short drive to downtown/hiking. DVD player in room and movies available, but DVD player wasn't hooked up. We couldn't get it to work and there was no one available to do it for us. Not a huge deal, but no reason to have it in the room if it's not hooked up.

Room Tip: The Carriage room is very quiet and has it's own entrance and patio. Very nice.

Have only good things to share about our stay. Had the Old Master Room, which was very spacious, had a very comfortable bed, and a great porch sitting area. Breakfast was simple (eggs, pancakes, or strata), yet really good and generous portions. Amazing views. Room was quiet, and located in a secluded area.
