My husband and I were looking for a quick weekend getaway in the North Carolina mountains and after reviewing B&B websites and reading reviews on TripAdvisor we chose Gideon Ridge. We were not disappointed as the location was convenient but quiet and remote (just a quick drive to Main Street), the grounds were beautiful, and the B&B was clean and beautifully decorated. We appreciated the little things at Gideon Ridge; such as making sodas, waters and tea easily accessible to guests at all hours, and providing good quality travel toiletries (Aveda) as we forgot to pack our own shampoo/conditioner. We returned from dinner to find our fireplace lit and our bed turned down. The bed was very comfortable, and breakfast was very yummy.

We've been to more than a few B&B's, and many struggle with finding a balance between homey and historic, and feeling like you're staying at your Grandma's house. Gideon Ridge offered the upscale feel of a luxury hotel with all the warmth and charm of a B&B. We'll definitely be back!

My husband and I were married on the lawn here in 1995, and never miss a chance to return. Don't skip the dinner! Although it is expensive, it is an experience you don't want to miss. Perfect for an anniversary or honeymoon. The Inn is private and quiet and the lawns are beautiful. Views are terrific when the Smokies are not too smoky. Highly recommended!

We loved this place. We were able to book just one night as we went in January (usually you have to book two nights on the weekend). It was private, clean, and quiet. The only negative we found was that the grounds were quite small-- for some reason we thought there would be trails for walking-- there aren't any! I would definitely recommend this place and we will definitely be going back.

Gideon Ridge is a lovely inn located in Blowing Rock, NC.
The propety is small and secluded. We stayed in the Grandfather Suite. It has a separate living area, and a small terrace with an incredible view. The room has a fireplace and a separate powder room.

Breakfast was delicious and you can eat outdoors, weather permitting. The terrace was beautiful. The libray was the main common area, lovely fireplace and comfortable chairs and sofas. Tea was served each afternoon. We didn't have dinner at the inn during our stay.

If you are looking for quiet luxury with a magnificent view, this is the place for you.

I had a recent stay at the Gideon Ridge Inn and had a wonderful time. My husband and I stayed in the Sunrise Suite. The view was amazing from this room and there are great sitting areas outside and in from which to enjoy. They offer dinner, but not on Sun or Mon(when we were there), so we did not experience that. However, breakfast was good both mornings and the restaurant area was very pleasant. In fact, the entire property is beautiful and charming. The inn is in a very convenient location-close to restaurants, nice walks, etc. The only minor complaint was that we could hear some traffic from our room, but it was not bad- the view was worth it. I definitely recommend staying at Gideon Ridge if you visit BR.

We spent a wonderful night in the Cedar Cottage at this inn. The room was wonderful and the grounds were a pleasure to walk around. We made dinner reservations, but since there was only one other couple, the chef made a "set menu". So the only disappointment was the dinner (only becasue we had no choices: if you didn't like seafood, you were stuck with two courses that didn't suit you). Everything else was wonderful!!!
