“Worth a Visit”

If in Blowing Rock this is worth a visit. Doesn't cover a large area but the effect the wind has is worth experiencing. There is a good lookout platform.

“Expecting More”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 November 2013

Disappointment that the actual area for the blowing rock was roped off and you could not get right up close. Nice views of the surrounding area once the fog lifted. Apart from scenery not much else to do.

“Lots of shops and restaurants but how much do you want to buy and eat?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 October 2013

Blowing Rock is all about the main street. Packed with shops and restaurants. Missed Art in the Park as it was nearly over when we got into town. Main Street is great on weekdays but crowded on weekends. You have to fight traffic and hunt for parking or pay to park well off the beaten path in lots. Some great shops and some wonderful restaurants. I'll review separately. Summer in Blowing Rock has more things to do in the whole area. A bit too laid back for me in Fall.

“Interesting place to visit”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 October 2013

Although I had read up on this place, it wasn't as nice as I had expected. The nice thing is that you could cover the 1200 feet at your leisure, but there wasn't much else to explain the "history" of the place while there. We did purchase some t-shirts inside the shop area, but I really didn't think it was worth the $6 per adult admission charge.
