“Still a Superb Restaurant in Blowing Rock”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

We returned to this restaurant after a few years and it is still excellent. The food was perfectly prepared, starting with the flash fried Calamari with two sauces. The squid was not rubbery, as it is when overcooked, and it was delicious and so were the two sauces offered with it. My entree, the pecan-crusted grilled mountain trout with fingerling potatoes and grilled asparagus was sublime, and the "signature" lasagna and the wild mushroom and blue cheese fettuccine were equally excellent. A modest wine list yielded a bottle of wine that paired perfectly with the trout. The vanilla bread pudding with poppy seeds and bourbon sauce was also outstanding. The wait staff was competent and attentive.

“Service was so-so”
Reviewed 12 August 2014

We were a little disappointed with the service we rec'd. Our table was not cleared for a LONG time after we finished our meals. Our water glasses were not refilled. We enjoyed our meals but the service def took away from the experience.

“FINE DINING!”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

Excellent menu with something for everyone- vegans, pasta lovers, and all meat lovers. Every dish is prepared to order, but well worth the wait; so be sure to order one of their fresh salads to enjoy with the complimentary bread & oil dish. Their use of local fresh ingredients is a special touch that makes this excellent meal a little more perfect. Select carefully, or your companion just may "out order" you! ENJOY!!!

“Great lunch menu”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

My husband and I enjoyed lunch here the other day, and the food was delicious. He had the BLT fried green tomato sandwich, and I had salmon cakes. The waitress was very attentive and offered her assistance in suggesting the top menu items. We only wish they had been open for dinner, however, they serve breakfast and lunch only. I would definitely eat here again as we enjoyed it immensely.

“Really interesting menu, service was a wee bit slow”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

The food was very good. I had a special - NY Strip with blue cheese atop a bed of local root veggies and greens. Desert was a blackberry cobbler that tasted like my mom's. The wine list is nice and there are really good choices if you just want a glass. The wait staff is the typical college kid, so they aren't really very fast or super attentive. But, the food makes up for that!
