My wife and I stayed at the La Quinta in Boone NC near the end of February for a class to get CEU's to renew my NC State licensing. The weeknight value for a king bed with in-room jacuzzi is one of the best we've seen (barely over $100 with taxes included; considerably more for weekend). [I believe this may have enabled the instructor of the class to keep his rates more affordable also.] The service by the management was incredible--very willing to accommodate unexpected business needs (faxing and copying). Decor was enchanting--the woodworking on the stairs (vines interwoven and natural log rails) and facade of log columns outside, as well as the VERY frozen fountain with 2 deer in it! (It almost felt like a fairy-tale.)

The only drawbacks we experienced were some dissatisfaction with breakfast choices (understandable, but not as nice as we'd expected), and the short number of hours the exercise room and pool area are open (9 am-10 pm, even though only keycard-accessble to guests). I wanted to work out very early, and didn't get to. Both these inconveniences were minor, though, in the overall scheme--not enough to derate the overall value and pleasure we experienced in the experience.

We would definitely stay again if in the area on similar excursions.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review with us directly, as well as here on tripadvisor. This is very helpful to incoming travelers researching our hotel. We appreciate your feedback and are pleased to hear that you had an enjoyable stay at our property.

We are recently under new management and we are in the process of revamping our breakfast bar. We've discovered that this is quite an undertaking without a kitchen at our disposal and we are certainly open to suggestions! Regarding the fitness center, we would be happy to give you key-card access to our fitness center at anytime. We have had issues in the past with unsupervised children in the fitness center at night, and we just try to keep it quiet for the guests nearby in the hotel.

The staff was on spot and helpful as we didn't know the area. Ended up taking one of their suggestions and having a fantastic evening. Quality service and accommodations. Basic continental breakfast onsite good to help get you going in the morning.

We always stay here. It's the most affordable in Boone. I've paid 70.00 for weeknights. Very friendly staff. I didn't give it 5 because the breakfast isn't my favorite, but many love the waffle maker.

Room Tip: If I tell you my favorite room, you might book it when I'm going up, so I won't tell.

Thank you for such a glowing positive review of our property here in Boone. We really appreciate feedback from our guests, especially those that have stayed with us several times like yourself. I won't give away your favorite room type either, but it is indeed a very nice and spacious room.

We are under a new management team as of the first of the year and we are working with them on expanding our breakfast items to better serve our guests. My husband and I stayed here from 31 Jan to 03 Feb. We brought our black lab with us. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but we saw a few areas that would have taken our experience from good to great.

- the dog walking area was covered in feces. Other patrons were not cleaning up after their pets; in my opinion, that's when the staff needs to step in to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone.

- the hotel did have trash bags and a trash bin in the dog walk area but the bin was overflowing with dog waste and desperately needed to be emptied.

- when we arrived we were informed that no animals were allowed in the breakfast area. The morning we left, a woman walked into the breakfast area with her small dog. The hotel employee that caters to the breakfast area, pet the dog rather than inform it's owner that animals were not allowed there.

- the guest that stayed in our room before us forgot their leftovers in the fridge; the fridge was not checked by housekeeping prior to our occupancy and the leftovers were there for the duration of our stay until we threw them out.

Wonderful place to stay
Suite was awesome and very reasonable.
Would definatley recommend, and would like to return.
A little bit of a drive to the slopes, but other than that, overall stay was wonderful.

The hotel was centrally located, rooms clean, and staff friendly. We had absolutely no problems with this trip which isn't always the case with hotels we have stayed at in the past. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed with our four boys over a cold snowy weekend. Our rooms were nice and clean. The king suite had a nice separate living room with second tv. We liked the fact that it was pet friendly. The breakfast was good but not excellent. One of the waffle makers was broken. I'm sure it will be fixed soon it just made the process really slow. The kids loved the indoor pool and hot tub. It was clean and in good repair. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will be back.
