This is a fun experience!! I was unaware of how much family fun it was. The staff is very friendly and their business practices are very informative, and service oriented. The staff is as excited as you are about the stones and rocks, very good at assisting in cuts and recognizing best pieces for single or multiple cuts. I cannot wait to go back !!!! We have pieces to send to make personal gifts or polish for the home and a couple jewelery pieces for keepsakes. Really don't have to be into science or geology to get the FULL effect....AWESOME!!!

Thank Irene P

I was turned off by the price, having 7 kids that were insistant to go, went on a rainy day, they were so busy they had a waiting list! We left to get lunch with a promised return. Here was my chance to talk them out of it, No luck. We returned and agreed rather than buy a single load of rocks to "mine" through, we would get the "MotherLoad", ($120!!!). I was WRONG! They set the kids up with sifting boxes, garden spades and a water troft, and they went to work! They were shrieking and screaming at all the gems they found! Rebies, turquiose, emeralds, quartz, etc. etc. When they were done, they each had 2+ bags of stones. They were then brought to a bar type counter, where they all sat, and a "Gemologist" went through each bag, describing, naming and showing the polished version of all that they found. It was educational, fun, rewarding and a great way to spend an afterneen. Staff was awesome. They do try and get you to have their "jeweler" cut, polish, and mount any stone, for a fee, but it was offerred and not pressured. Great time!

We took our grandchildren (ages 11 & 7) and they thoroughly enjoyed their day at the gem mine. The staff was extremely helpful & knowledgeable. We all found nice stones. We were unsure about leaving the stones with them to be cut since we previously had an unpleasant experience at another mine. Today we received the three stones that we had left to be cut and they were beautiful.

We would recommend this business and look forward to going back again.

Went on a weekday around lunch time and we were the only ones there. The staff were very friendly and informative! We got the Motherlode bucket with two people and were there for four hours including the actual mining and ordering our cut gems. We got five bags full of treasures. The staff go through your finds with you and advise as to what pieces are most valuable. No pressure to buy.

Had so much fun. The staff was great, and very helpful. Went above and beyond. It was so neat to find all the different gems and we found a good amount of cutable gems. I love that we can mail in the gems that we want to get cut since we were unable to do so when we were there.
