“Very close to downtown Boone/Blowing Rock”
Reviewed 11 July 2012

Very clean, new, friendly staff. We had a king bed with a mini fridge. Our room was on the 4th floor, on the back side of the building. It was the last room on the floor and the road noise was extremely loud. We could hear big trucks and traffic. That being said, it's the only complaint. The hotel is only a mile or so from downtown Boone and right off the main road that goes to Blowing Rock.

The hotel was very pretty, the lobby very well decorated and has a small bistro inside. Beautiful stonework outside. We had a suite and it had all the comforts of home. Very clean, nice balcony (but could have used two chairs). The king size bed was very comfortable, large walk in shower. Large vanity, dressing area. TV in living room and bedroom. Very nice desk, work station in living room.
Front desk staff was very friendly. My only complaint, which is very frequent in hotels, not enough water pressure in the shower. Otherwise, very nice stay. Plenty of parking.

The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The hotel's common areas, both indoor and outdoor, were very inviting and lend to social gathering for large and small groups a like. This location does not offer a continental breakfast or manager's happy hour that we have had at other CYM, but they offer a Bistro that is a very nice replacement offering a full service bar, Starbucks essentials, made to order breakfast and mucnies including wings, etc. It's location is central to the area. I highly recommend this hotel when visiting the area.

This was one of the nicest Courtyard properties I've ever stayed at. Not only is it brand new (built earlier this year) but it also has a very nice, modern appearance inside and out. I would absolutely stay here again next time, without a doubt.

About the only complaints I have are (1) the usual Courtyard complaint (no breakfast for a high rate) and (2) the location of the hotel is a little strange--it's not very easy to get in or out to the highway or the main road. It's also worth trying to make sure that your room faces away from the highway, as the road noise can be a little annoying.

Rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. Bed (king size) was very comfy. Didnt try the Bistro.
Would have loved to have spent a second night. Price was very reasonable.Just a couple things that arent a huge deal, but as others have mentioned, doors are noisy when closing and the cleaning staff was working into evening with carts in the middle of the hall. Staff was very friendly. The outside sitting area is a nice touch. Didnt use the pool or whirlpool. Nice fitness area.

As others have mentioned, this hotel is new and very nice and clean. We liked the extra amenities - the patio, the large lobby area with TVs and computers, the Bistro, although the temperature was so cold in the lobby we couldn't stay there for very long. The room was spacious for a standard room, extra floor space for luggage. Very clean any nicely appointed. The doors were very loud when closing. The people in the room next to us must have checked out very early b/c they went in and out of their room about a dozen times one morning and the door slammed as loud as if it were our own door. The hotel is located at a busy intersection and it can be difficult getting in and out depending on which way you're going. Our only other complaint was that we were not able to check in until 2 hrs past the stated check-in time. The staff was very apologetic and gave us free Starbucks drinks. They said the hotel was full but we never saw more than a handful of people the entire time we were there. Two more hours later @ 7:00 pm housekeeping was still on our floor cleaning rooms. Not sure how it can take that long when checkout is at noon. Other than waiting to check in, we liked the hotel and would recommend it.

We stayed at this Marriott for one night while in Boone for a campus tour of ASU. It's a new hotel that opened Jan 2012. It had a great, very modern lobby, which included a tv viewing area to hang out and computers. There is a Bistro that had very good food. My son had a flatbread pizza and it was delicious. There also is a beautiful stone patio off the lobby that features a fire pit with really nice couches around it. As for the room, it was comfortable and clean. The beds were really cozy and the bathroom was clean and a good size. The staff were current and former ASU students that were incredibly welcoming and friendly. They were so nice to share their experiences of the school with us. There is a place called Peabody's next door which sells beer and wine. Better to buy there if you want something to drink, rather than spending more money at the bar in the hotel. The only con was the elevator. There is only one and for some reason it is extremely slow. A bit of a pain. The workout room and indoor pool looked very nice. If we go to Boone again, this is the place we will stay. It's convenience to downtown Boone and Appalachian State along with the comfortable stay make it a plus!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 415 and it was longer than the standard rooms, which would be great if your a fami...
