We came to town a day early and most hotels were full. We stumbled on Sleep Inn. The Internet was out but the staff was working very hard to accommodate everyone. We waited a short period of time to be assigned a room, the staff was working off a manual system. Kudos to the staff, they assigned us a clean room in no time. They do need better signage, they share a parking lot with a competitor.

We had never stayed at a Sleep Inn before and are so glad we did. The rooms are smaller than some hotels but the staff was great, the bed was comfortable, the entire hotel was immaculate and the breakfast was excellent. I highly recommend this htoel!

My husband and I wanted a weekend getaway. $160.00; ok we decided to splurge. Had a connecting room and in that connecting room was a very upset child who cried most of the night. Made several, several attempts at calling the front desk, no answer. Called the hotel phone number on my cell phone, no answer. Had to go downstairs and the rude young man behind the counter of no help what so ever. I'll not stay there again.

Dear guest,
We are sorry that your experienced an unpleasant night's sleep. There is no excuse for the front desk not answering the telephone, and that has been severely dealt with.
We hope to see you again upon your next visit to Boone, NC.

I had 2 adjoining rooms booked. When we arrived at the rooms, the floors had not been vacuumed, each room only had 1 washcloth and only 1 laundry bag for both rooms. There were crumbs all around the nightstand. The sheets were very thin. When I tried to get more wash cloths, I was told that they did not have any more, some were on order. They did give us some hand towels. These rooms had 2 double beds in each room. When I went downstairs the next morning, I asked to have the rooms vacuumed. When we arrived back that night, the rooms had not been vacuumed, no laundry bags, no cups, no wash cloths and no bath mats. When I went back downstairs, the poor front desk clerk was having a very bad time handling other guests who had complaints so I did not get a chance to talk to her. The second morning, I again asked to have the rooms vacuumed, but this did not happen and again no laundry bags, no cups and no bath mats. We did have clean wash cloths. When we checked out, I told the front desk about these issues. The breakfast was ok. We will not be going back to this Sleep Inn. We have stayed at a lot of Sleep Inns and have never encountered the problems that we had here. It appeared that there was a lack of training for the housekeepers.

Dear guest, Please accept my apology for your inconveniences during your stay at the Sleep Inn. Many of the housekeeping staff during that week, were in fact, new and just started training.
The issues however, are unacceptable, and have been dealt with.
Thank you.

We booked our room with choice.com for one night's stay during the Highland Games. We understand that hotels elevate their pricing for events such as this. Our room was booked at $135.00 per night, we made our reservation two weeks in advance of the Highland Games. Those behind us who were walk-ins were given a $165.00 a night rate. Unfortunately the elevated price was not commiserate with the service and amenities. At the desk the service was slow understandably so, because we were patient with an employee in training. We were given our room key and proceeded to our room. Upon entering the room the first thing we noticed was that the room was freezer cold. The next issue was that the bed was ruffled. While made it was obvious someone (or two) had used the bed as pillows were disrupted and laying on the folded down sheet was evidence that Stuart Little (yes, mouse dropping) had slept and voided his bowels on our bed. We took a snapshot or two hoping to get an autograph...instead we proceeded to the front desk to request a cleaned room. We were given a key to a new room. The new room's temperature was acceptable and clean. It appeared no member of the Murinae family had visited. The chair for the desk was old and needs replacing. The small couch in the room is old and dingy. We unloaded our car and prepared for Friday nights celtic concert. At the appearance of lightening did we decided to leave and return to our room. Wet and cold we began preparations for warm showers. There was one washcloth in the bathroom. My sweetheart went to the front desk and ask for washcloths. He was given two bath towels and two hand towels, evidently washcloths were not available. The light over the bathroom mirror was out completely. Only the light near the shower worked. The shower was a walk in however it was tiny and had an odor. It was clean but the odor was moldy and may have been behind the wall at the shower head. And the water temperature was unreliable and could not be stabilized. The lamp at the bed was out as well. The mattress was comfortable and other than it not being 'our bed' we slept fine.Several of the pillowcases were threadbare and the bedspread was old and should be retired. Saturday morning, my sweetheart went downstairs for coffee. He noticed the breakfast, boiled eggs, muffins, cereal, juice, and coffee. A basic cold breakfast bar. And at 6:30 am the quantity was insufficient for the number of guests staying that weekend. The coffee was bad not just by our observation, we overheard several others complaining as well. Overall I would say this facility could improve with better management. Management at the front desk and management with the room services to ensure the room is ready for guests, all lights work, linens and towels are sufficient and clean. Several hand towels we were given had stains on them. Certainly not an experience worthy of $135 per night. I can imagine the frustration those who paid $165 felt. We gave the hotel four stars for sleep quality as the bed was comfortable and the room temps were stable and agreeable; three stars for cleanliness because of the stained towels and lack of hand towels; and four stars for location. The rest of our rating is poor. This Sleep Inn when considering service, value, and room provided is more in line with a $65.00 a night stay. For event weekends and elevated price of $90 until management can be improved and the service escalated.

Room Tip: Keep away from the rooms near the noisy elevator.

Dear guest, After further investigation of the room claimed to be slept in by Mr. Little, we found absolutely no evidence of the fictional character or his relatives.
The room was actually rented later that night, with no complaints or signs of any problems.
The staff and I thank you for such a story, however, it is still fictional.

This is a Sleep Inn so you would think it would be reasonable but the location dictates the price. It is a nice location and the rooms are alright and the staff is nice. I would like them to drop their price a few dollars to reflect the overall experience, but I don't think that will happen. This is a college town and their are few hotels in the area so they can charge you for the convenience of staying in Boone and not having to pay less, but drive more. The rooms are okay but I have paid less money elsewhere and stayed in much nicer rooms. If you are not on a budget then pay more money and stay at the Holiday Inn Express, over by Lowes. It is clean and close to everything in Boone, but there other hotels in the area that are just as comfy for a little less.
