The house, rooms, and grounds are exceptionally maintained - this is definately a labor of love for the owners, Scott & Ann. They were generally pleasant with Scott being noticeably more responsive to patrons. Breakfast times are generally set without much flexibility. Special requests appeared to be tolerated but not particularly welcome. We also witnessed Ann's intrusive temper in reaction to a small but unexpected request. While a display of temper toward a guest may be expected at a large hotel by employees it should not occur in a B&B (except in cases of egregious guest behavior). Good effort was made to have a pleasant variety of food but the preparation was simply average. Having visited other regional B&Bs of similar price I will elect to stay elsewhere at an inn where all the elements of a B&B are above average.
I would not take children to this B&B, nor is it accomodating to business travelers.

My wife and I spent a couple nights here last winter. It was a Christmas present from my parents. We were quite disappointed to say the least. The hosts were each unique. Scott would talk your ear off whether or not you wanted to listen, while Ann was less than friendly. In fact, in one of the most uncomfortable moments in my personal lodging history, Ann was quite rude at the breakfast table, flipping her hair back and throwing a minor temper tantrum, all over a lost Charlotte Observer. "I never get to read the paper!" she whined as she stomped out of the room. As far as the food, it was good but not great. I got a chuckle the first morning when I discovered that what the hosts described as "shredded potato puffs" was nothing more than Ore Ida tater tots straight out of the bag. When arranging our trip, my parents had requested they have a specific favorite beverage of mine on sight, and the hosts said they would. Well, they didn't, and it was supposed to have been a surprise, so we didn't know to ask about it. The house itself was beautiful, as were the surrounding grounds. And it's very conventient to Boone and the surrounding sights. But we won't be back again, and in fact we're afraid to go to any other B&Bs, out of fear that our experience might not have been unique.

It was love at first sight! We arrived at 9 pm and the house was lit up like a postcard. It was decorated for Memorial Day - very patriotic. Ann, one of the innkeepers, greeted us as if she had known us forever. We immediately felt at home. The house is very well kept and restored to perfection. Fridge was open use with wine, sodas, and beer. Our room was beautiful - hardwoods, king size bed, tv/vcr etc. Ann & Scott do nice touches such as turndown service with chocolates as well as special amenities upon request. Breakfast was terrific - always fruits, breads, meats, eggs etc served buffet style. We will definitely stay again - as many others obviously do - there were several repeat guests during our stay. The locality is almost walking distance to downtown Boone and great restaurants.
It is located just a 5-10 min drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway and all of the scenic sights near Boone. We stayed three nights and slept blissfully and peacefully!!!
