Our group came up Jan 31-Feb 2, 2014 for a skiing weekend and enjoyed dinner at the Red Onion on Friday night. The Bourbon Chipotle Ribeye was fantastic along with the honey carrots and potato medley. My husband also enjoyed the Mediterranean Tilapia. The environment was warm and inviting and the staff was very engaging.

Everyone raves about the Red Onion Cafe so maybe its just me, but I find it only so, so. We've been here twice now and this past time I had a mushroom pasta dish and a) it was tiny and b) it was overcooked. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food, my husband loves the coffee rubbed steak. But next time we visit I'll be angling to try someplace new.

We always stop at Red Onion on our way to the mountains and the food is always very good. The selection is largest enough to satisfy everyone in your party. Service is very good, wait staff provides lots of attention.

The menu has unique items, such as coffee encrusted steak, to get your attention. There are no disappointments in this establishment. Salads were fresh, crisp and flavorful. The entrees were served at the correct temperatures, and accompanied by flavorful side dishes. The baked potatoes were great. Daughter says the place is "yum yum".

On a recommendation we went to Red Onion Cafe for lunch and we were not disappointed. On a cold rainy day we were searchng for a nice warm meal. Our choices as follows. .. a good cheese burger and sweet potato fries..... a very good shrimp corn chowder soup and a fair reuben sandwich... a good blackened chicken breast platter... and an OK French Onion soup with a very good quiche.
Overall we had a good meal and very pleasant service experience.
The gluten free options are just...don't order bread or pasta but there is enough options on the nice menu to make it work.
Overall.. we would recommend the Red Onion.
