Our room had a unpleasant musty or dog smell. The lighting was dim with the type of compact fluorescents they used throughout and also cast a weird white balance. The mini-fridge ran with a high pitch and the ventilation return in the bathroom ran constantly so the room was never really quiet. The outdoor flower bed was dead and dried out (we were there in September when things were still in bloom) which made the entrance look unattractive. The breakfast area was freezing cold each morning. But there was a good array of food and beverage choices. The mattresses and pillows were comfortable. We usually prefer Holiday Inn Express locations but this wasn't the best one.
The Brevard downtown is surprisingly large for a small town with lots of neat businesses and restaurants to check out. And the Pisgah National Forest and Blue Ridge Parkway nearby has lots of lovely waterfalls and hiking trails.More
