We visited Brevard, NC, for three days in early October 2013, and our first dinning experience there was at the Phoenix. The atmosphere was very cosy, the menu offered many organically grown options, which were delivered fresh from local farmers. The food was reasonably priced and the service was very good. I had the roasted quail, and it was amazing, and my wife had the green-fried tomatos, which were served with roasted shrimp and creamy diablo sauce... also very tasty. This establishment offers live music nightly too, although we ate dinner and left before the music began.

The staff were nice but the service a bit slow. The food was a bit bland. Poor wine choices. The night we had dinner there they had some wonderful guys playing guitar. It was full of locals. We did not have their sandwiches but heard they are good and noticed that is what the locals were enjoying. We actually went back another night for music but it wasn't good. I think you need to ask who/what kind of music as both nights were VERY different.

LOVED every bit of the meal! we went for lunch and we started with Cesar salad, french onion soup. both were great! Then we had the best crab cake ive ever had, along with some fried tomatoes with shrimp in the sauce (which was amazing!) I cant wait to go back and eat there again!! The atmosphere was awesome, not too fancy, but not a dive. Looking forward to listening to some music next time we go for dinner!

We love eating at the Phoenix, some of the best food in Brevard. Have not had a bad plate in our 5-6 visits. They have a new menu, and it seems with that came a bit higher prices. Everything is getting more expensive so I guess that's what you get. Had fish and chips special the other night and it consisted of 4 small battered fish bits, slightly larger than chicken nuggets in size and some potatoes. I was kind of shocked that it was $12 for the plate with such simple ingredients and small portions. It still was delicious, so I can't complain too much!

Best fried pickles I've ever had. They recently switched from chips to spears and they are as good as ever!

The Phoenix Restaurant is kind of a new kid on the block restaurant. We had the flounder cooked in a delicious sauce with wine. All were excellent. And the jazz music was an added bonus (on Wednesday nights}. Don't miss it! Our waiter was very attentive!
