We spent five days at this Microtel and would go back in a heartbeat. The hotel has easy access to Bryson City and Hwy 74, and the entire staff was courteous and helpful. They even provided us with a place to store our bicycles. Both desk clerks that we dealt with went out of their way to assist us, but Tanya in particular provided us with a wealth of information on restaurants, outdoor locations to explore, and local history of this charming town, always with a friendly smile. The rooms were clean and had a clean feel to them, as did the entire hotel. The hotel sits on a hill, and during the summer, the parking lot offers a spectacular view of the sun setting behind a mountain. An asset that should be capitalized on with benches or a sitting area.
My one complaint (which I didn't voice) was the breakfast. If you're wheat intolerant or need gluten free, plan on eating elsewhere. But a clean hotel with exceptional customer service and easy access--and a great sunset--is worth the minor inconvenience.More
