“Fine dining in the smokey mountains”
Reviewed 7 June 2013 via mobile

An excellent experience, what a gem hidden in the mountains. A creative menu offers variety and showcases the chef's skills in the kitchen. Fresh ingredients are used and bring the dishes to life. Service is excellent and attentive. You'll want to get here early enough to appreciate the views before the sun goes down.

“Country food with a twist”
Reviewed 28 October 2012

In a town with limited dining options we were really surprised to find such a gem. The grilled trout was incredible, as was the inventive use of grits in a vegetarian stack with spinach, a portobello mushroom, goats cheese and tomatoes. Unfortunately we got there a bit too late to see the sun set but this would be a beautiful place to sit outside with a drink in the early evening.

“Destination Dinner - worth it!!”
Reviewed 28 September 2012 via mobile

NEW OWNER. Well worth the 8 hour drive. Classy lodge environment. Candlelit linen tablecloths but comfortable with flip flops. Ideal service - personalized and polite. The Portobello Tower was amazing--Goat Cheese and Grilled Tomato Stuffed Mushroom cap with grilled  greens, Nantahala Grits, and Balsamic reduction. California menu with perfect prices. The new owner has made this restaurant something we can remember.

“Great food, lovely mountain view”
Reviewed 20 September 2012

We sat out on the porch on a Saturday evening in mid-September. The mountain view is stunning, and the food is wonderful, although service is a bit slow. If you want cocktails, call first, because they weren't serving any that evening due to lack of license, which they were hoping to get soon. I would recommend also paying with exact cash, including tip, because it can take a while to get your credit card back. For the excellent view & wonderful food, I give it four stars & I will be back when they get their license to pour.

“A very good filet west of Asheville”
Reviewed 17 August 2012 via mobile

Please note, this restaurant is only open a few days a week like thurs-sun or check with them. Nice atmosphere with casual to nice dress. Nice view of blue ridge mtns. Porch was reserved for a wedding party but main dining had nice views also. I surprisingly enjoyed the entertainment - banjo mtn music. Bar area seemed like it could be a spot to meet or hangout. Food was all very good, not outstanding. But it was also not over-priced. My wife and i both had filets that you could cut with a fork. Kids devoured their plates. With very few options near nantahala, i set my expectations on 'nice meal for this area' and I was pleasantly surprised.
