“A pleasant stay in Bryson City”
Reviewed 30 August 2014

We really enjoyed our stay in Bryson City. The rooms were small (for five of us!) but comfortable enough for a couple of nights. It was clean, cool and a friendly place to stay. The pool was lovely and the kids loved having the outdoor open fire to toast their marshmallows on! It was a good stopping point and enabled us to visit the local towns with ease. It is slightly out of town so you do need a car to be able to get to anywhere decent to eat.

This was a trip back in time for me. It reminds me of the motels my family stayed in back in the 1950s.A couple, Kathy and
Blain have done an excellent job in updating and caring for it. They purchased it seven years ago.You have a choice of staying in rooms near the pool ($65) or on the river($75) The window air conditioners
worked fine, even though during the day the temperature was
in the mid 60s. Every afternoon we sat by the river and had drinks This river runs into another one about a hundred
yards down stream, hence the name "Two Rivers Lodge" The beds
we're a little lumpy but everything else was fine.We took several day trips and would
highly recommend a trip to Murphy, NC, just over an hour away.
We had a delicious lunch at "Shoebooties" in Murphy. We also visited John C.
Campbell Folk School in Brass Town, NC, which is a most fascinating place. Also,
Harrahs Casino is just a few miles north

Room Tip: Although I just peeked in the rooms by the pool, our room along the river seemed larger.

I took my wife on vacation to Two Rivers Lodge from 8/10/14-8/12/14. This is an awesome place to stay. Great privately owned hotel. The owners are very friendly and he even came out and introduced himself and I explained that I had came with a group four years ago and he remembered us. This place is very reasonably priced and very biker friendly. The housekeeping is really nice as well and does a great job cleaning the rooms. They have some of the cleanest rooms of any place I have ever stayed and anytime from now on that I go to the Bryson City Cherokee area this is where I will stay.

This was my second stay at Two Rivers Lodge. It is even improved from last time. The river bank area is greatly improved by a covered fire pit area with picnic tables, gliders, and a charcoal grill. And just like last time they have a campfire going each night for enjoying. Same as before the room was clean and everything in good working order. Great location right between Bryson City and Cherokee. This is the quiet side of the smokies. Wi-Fi works great even while sitting by the campfire if you need it.

Great motel to visit. The owners are always welcoming and can recommend great rides near and far. The rooms near river are quite and cozy. We have stayed here a few times and it is always a great pleasure. Will visit again.

I've been to the Two Rivers Lodge twice before with my motorcycle clubs and am looking forward to going again in a few months. This is NOT a 5-star resort, so if that's what you want/expect find a more expensive hotel. It is, however, one of the friendliest and most relaxing places that I've stayed.

The rooms are not super fancy, but they are clean and comfortable. The owners live on the property and will bend over backwards to make your stay enjoyable. A riverside pavilion with a fire pit, a swimming pool and porches outside of each room make the stay even better.

I would recommend this to anyone coming thru this area.

The beautiful setting surrounding the Two Rivers Lodge, where the Oconaluftee and Tuskaseegee Rivers join, coupled with clean, comfortable, homey accommodations and genuine "At Home" hospitality provided by the lovely couple, Kathy and Blaine Shobe, is best described "like a pearl." If this memorable experience and remarkable location were an oyster than the Shobe's Two Rivers Lodge is the oyster's pearl!
Looking forward once again, year after year, for September's arrival to revisit this experience!

Thank you Kathy and Blaine!
