“Nice”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

We were met at the door by the owner and given a tour of the Inn, he is very nice and the place is very clean and looks beautiful. Its in a nice quiet place out in the country, overall a beautiful setting for a B&B. Our only complaints were very low water pressure and no AC. We had a good breakfast and met some very nice folks staying at the Inn.

We thank this guest for this review. We admit that there was an issue with the water pressure when this guest stayed with us. Our water comes from a deep well. Our pressure tank was faulty and a new one was on order. It arrived the following day and the problem was resolved.

As far as NO AC, all of our rooms have individually-controlled central air conditioning and heating. Perhaps the guest did not turn the switch to the ON position. We had a full house that night and there were no other complaints.

What a great five-night stay at the Folkestone. Steve and Eva thought of everything to make our visit a wonderful and memorable experience. A clean and cozy room with attention to every detail.
And did we mention the breakfast? The best we have experienced at ANY B and B to date. Green, lush surroundings and quiet evenings to unwind from the day's activities.

Very close to downtown Bryson City, with a great variety of shops, restaurants and coffee houses to explore along with the Great Smoky Mountains National Park literally right up the road.

Thanks again Steve, Eva and Robin for making our vacation the best.

We had a reservation at another property in Bryson City but, upon arrival there, found that property so disreputable looking both my husband and I voted to leave immediately and lose our prepaid reservation. Our guidebook highly recommended the Folkestone Inn so we called for a room. The owner was very cordial, helpful and professional. Both the exterior and interior were immaculate, in dramatic contrast to the disaster we had just left. We had a small porch off our bedroom where we read for a while in the afternoon sun. Our room also had a fireplace. Breakfast was delicious. The owners had thought of many small extra touches to make their guests comfortable and happy. I'm a "pop cornaholic." They had a microwave and popcorn ready for my bedtime reading. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and would highly recommend the Folkestone Inn.

A wonderful and peaceful four night stay thanks to warm hosts, glorious countryside, a comfortable room with a mountain view, and breakfasts with the wow factor. Highly recommended. Thanks Steve, Eva and Robyn.

To say we were relaxed, well taken care of, provided an unbelievable breakfast, and enjoyed a fabulous room at the Folkstone Inn would just touch on the way we felt this past weekend in the mountains of NC! A friend recommended we stay with at the Inn in Bryson City and what a great recommendation that was! We felt at home and comfortable and very welcomed from the first minute to the last (and believe me, we did not want to leave!) We stayed in the Wrens and Warblers room, which was perfect for us - although having looked at several of the other rooms, I don't think you could go wrong with any of them! Ours was on the second floor, and we enjoyed sipping wine on our balcony, while petting the resident cat, Cali, who decided to join us! We had wonderful weather, great company and met some very nice people and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Make your reservation now so you won't miss out on this treasure!!

Room Tip: This is a quiet inn, off the beaten path - no traffic noise - only the sounds of nature! We enjoyed...

We stayed here as a base for exploring the Smokies and it was the highlight of our week long holiday to North Carolina. The owners were really friendly, the hotel was very well equipped with everything from a computer for guest use to corkscrews and the breakfasts started with a dessert! The B and B had plenty of rocking chairs and stoves and a great Halloween display so it felt cosy yet had all the comfort of a chain hotel. It was very well situated for walks in the Smokies, the Great Smoky Mountain Express and Dollywood.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Light and Shade room at the front overlooking the garden and it was lovely to wake...

This was our first time at Folkestone Inn, but we have known Steve & Eva for years. Loved our room and the breakfasts were fantastic. We were able to get a four day weekend over the Labor Day weekend 2012,and we had a wonderful stay. The pictures do not show all the beauty of Folkestone Inn, and the grounds. The front porch was our favorite place to just sit and relax. Being from South Texas the weather was beautiful Western North Carolina is such a beautiful location for this Inn. We will be back for another stay in the near future. Thanks Steve and Eva.
