This was my first visit to a B&B, and the bar has been set amazingly high. The house was grand and historic with beautiful furnishings. The setting was amazing, only 20 minutes from the interstate, but miles away from everything. As great as the property is, it is not the best thing about this special place. Debbie, the owner, made us feel at home from the moment we walked in. No detail was overlooked and she went above and beyond to make sure my family felt at home. We look forward to returning in the future.

The proprietor Debbie couldn't do enough for us; from welcoming us with freshly baked cookies (always kept on hand) to setting us up on the porch overlooking the creek and forest to enjoy our private breakfast for two. I even talked her out of a recipe for a puffed pastry called "gentleman's casserole". Peace and quiet, restful charm awaits anyone. Leave your worries behind, including your cellphone. There is Internet and land line, or you could go into charming Burnsville to use your cell. But, aren't you on vacation? We are already checking our schedule to see when we can get back! I have to challenge my husband to another game of scrabble.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the Creekside rm. where we could hear it when the windows were open. It was peaceful loo...

My sister and I took a girls' trip for a few days. Everything about our stay was perfect. I stayed in the Dreamdale room and had the best nights' sleep I've ever had! The bed was SO comfortable and I had my window opened as I listened to the roaring creek outside all night. Breakfast was delicious and the hospitality was the best that I've ever seen. We enjoyed relaxing on the grounds and a hike to Bald mountain. While there was plenty we could have done, we had the most fun just being lazy and catching up on some much needed girl time. What a perfect place to do just that. It was just breathtaking! We WILL be back!

Room Tip: The dreamdale room is amazing!!! The king bed is SO comfortable and has two reading chairs right nex...

We were in North Carolina for the weekend to look for a venue for our wedding. We arrived at The Buck House Inn after a long day of driving and meetings feeling a little disheartened. This feeling completely turned around once we pulled into the parking lot. The home was amazing and definitely restored with care. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Debbie was so sweet. She spent so much time with us. I had the best night sleep; I actually slept late! My fiancé has not stopped talking about how great the breakfast was. We did not need to discuss which venue we wanted we knew we had found the perfect place. We cannot wait for our wedding day. We know our guests will be comfortable and taken care of. The Buck House Inn is a perfect place for a weekend, a vacation and especially for a wedding!

The Buck House B&B is a place that we'll visit often. Debbie's hospitality is unsurpassed...we felt as if we'd known her all of our lives. Her little touches were greatly appreciated...yummy cookies, refreshing water with mint at all times, delicious breakfasts. We were the first guests to enjoy breakfast outside...the cooler temps felt wonderful to us Floridians! The inn's history, accommodations, surroundings, and hospitality all add up to a time of respite we'd recommend to anyone!!

Room Tip: Having the room next to the creek allows one to hear the sound of the water, and that makes great sl...

We were the first guests at The Buck House Inn upon their opening. We were not sure what we would encounter. The hostess was more than gracious and made us feel as if we were family!
The accommodations were oustanding and the surroundings beautiful. We look forward to returning to this "little bit of Heaven" on Bald Mountain Creek.

Absolutely beautiful setting. The historic inn is rich with history and wonderful accommodations. The owner operator is one of the warmest people you will ever meet and cooks an incredible breakfast with beautiful presentation. Personable service and hospitality is unmatched. Fresh lemonade and homemade goodies always available- a truly wonderful, peaceful retreat to get way and renew the soul.
