Great Winter Deal! The room was nicely decorated and comfortable (I had a non-pet room). Loved the convenience of the fridge and microwave (Off season there are not as many restaurants available for meals). Hotel staff was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable about the area. Will definitely stay again.

This is the best experience I've ever had traveling with our dog ... the room was spacious, management very friendly, and there is a fenced-in back yard for dogs. The reasonable pet fee is much appreciated! We stayed for a short winter trip and had a quiet, cozy stay.

Thanks for the review, Sarah! The "best experience I've ever had traveling with our dog" is one of the best compliments we could think of! I'm glad you found our rooms spacious, the management friendly, and the pet fee reasonable.

I hope you and your pup had a great time exploring the Outer Banks! There are a lot of really great pet-friendly activities around here.

Take care,
Angie R. - Owner

The manager was very friendly. He offered suggestions on where to eat and where to fish. He also offered to freeze any fish we caught to take home and offered to let us use his grill to cook fish. We booked an efficiency in case we wanted to cook in the room. It was tiny and, in my opinion, overpriced. I would go back there if in the area but I would not splurge for the efficiency again.

We were back down in Buxton for a few days at the end of Sept./ beginning of October. It felt like being home again while we were there. The bathroom had been redone since the last time we stayed in that particular room. It is the little extras that make this place so great, like the large freezer for guests to use, a water hose out front by the grill, and the pool that was open past Labor Day. Our only regret was that with the government shutdown the best fishing and shelling beaches closed down on our last day there.

We're happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay, Rachel. Reviews like this mean more to us than you know. We put a lot of effort into the "little extras" to make the place feel like home and it's great that you noticed.

We'd love to see you back -- the fishing and shelling beaches are up and running!

Hope all is well,

A nice quiet place, very clean and cheerfully dog friendly. AC a little noisey, Small bathroom but clean- we were not expecting a spa. At check in we got a great reccomendation for dinner- it was the Sand Bar and very good food and the sunset was beautiful! This will be our place to stay if we come back! Thank you all for making our quick get-a-away lots of fun!

My husband and I stayed for several days last week at the Cape Pines Motel. It was our first travel experience with a dog, and it was absolutely fantastic. The hotel room was modest, but it was clean and perfectly comfortable - there was a small refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee pot in the room. The dog facilities were amazing - the fenced-in yard, rooms on the ground floor, easy access to water, etc. We also loved the availability of grills, lots of outdoor seating, a beautiful pool, ice, and even laundry facilities. In addition, it was quite convenient, to have a grocery store directly across the street and a bakery within easy walking distance. We would heartily recommend the Cape Pines Motel.
