Had the opportunity to stay at the Cape Hatteras Bed and Breakfast accommodation over the weekend. From our arrival to departure we found everything to be first class. Nice clean and well maintained room, very pleasing variety of well prepared breakfasts, lovely sundeck, Bicycles and many other beach items etc. for your use. Nice Buxton location near to Beach, Restaurants, Mini Golf and Shops. We stayed in the Andrew room on the second floor which was ideally situated between the sun deck and breakfast area. All in all a very enjoyable stay and would highly recommend the accommodation to any visitor to the area. Many thanks to host Virginia and Jed, it was nice to meet you both.........Sharon and David (Wilmington NC)

Room Tip: Rooms on 2nd floor if possible. Nice views from Sun Deck !!!

We had booked for Easter weekend this charming place in Buxton NC. Our first visit at the southern part of the Outer Banks, seeing the Lighthouses, Beaches, Nature and having great seafood. The B&B is awesome, very friendly owners, very nice and clean rooms and excelent breakfast. We realy enjoyed our stay, would like to come back if possible.

I booked the weekend before Easter at the B&B for my wife and I to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. I should first say we have never spent time in the Outer Banks before and most of our beach vacations (which were many) have been near the greater Myrtle Beach area. First our experience at the B&B . . We stayed in the Andrew room, which I believe may be the best place to stay! It is upstairs with a deck right outside the door which has a view of the ocean. You can also get a little bit of a view of the ocean from the window in the room. Views aren't as good on the first floor. The room was tastefully decorated with a queen bed, a couple of comfortable chairs, and an adequate bathroom. It also had a flat screen TV, mini fridge and a microwave. It was everything we needed for the weekend in our accommodations. The breakfasts were cooked for us and were wonderful! I believe the chef's name was Linda, who was friends with the B&B owners. We had a choice each day of what we wanted for breakfast and they were great! I am a plain eater and enjoyed eggs, toast, sausage, bacon and fried potatoes. My wife had a couple different types of quiche along with a bowl of mixed fruit. They only buy organic food and can handle most quirky tastes. There was milk, coffee, juice and water to drink. We also had time during breakfast to talk to Linda and Jed (the proprietor) about the history of the B&B, places to see and experience in the area and other local information. This was a real value for us, as it put the personal touch on the weekend. It also gave us great resources to find out where to eat, get gas, shops to stop in, etc. Also, the B&B has anything you could need for the beach including chairs, umbrellas, bicycles, beach towels, beach hats, etc. As for the area, Buxton is not a place with a lot of "pop" and draws for tourists. It is a very natural area with almost no chain restaurants or stores. Most everything is based on locals selling to locals. There are some gift shops but most were closed as were in town a week before the summer season began. Overall, we had an absolutely great weekend! Jed was extremely welcoming, courteous and helpful (his wife was out of town for the weekend) and it was great getting to know Linda in the kitchen. If you want to spend some time in the outer banks, I would highly recommend the Cape Hatteras B&B!

Room Tip: I had read earlier reviews which suggested the Andrew room upstairs, and I think it was a great choi...

What a find! We stayed in Mitch--spotless, airy, comfy bed and linens. I appreciated the green efforts: terra green toiletries, glass bottles to fill at an available water purifier, yogi teas, organic items on the menu. Virginia's breakfast choices are not only creative but have a health conscious approach: BLT has local bacon and spinach, sausage soufflé made with local sausage and accompanied by greens, eggs florentine instead of eggs Benedict, steel cut oatmeal. For guest use, the inn offers beach hats, beach towels, totes, sunscreen, bug spray, bikes. Coffee and tea along with scrumptious cookies or scones along with a basket of fruit and a bowl of candy were available in the dining room/sitting all day and into the early evening. The lovely and quiet sitting room is off the dining area and has a gas fireplace and tv. A large deck adjoins the dining/sitting great room. Our room had a refrigerator and a microwave. There is a microwave for guest use near the entrance water purifier system (which provides hot and cold water). Virginia and Jed are terrifically knowledgeable regarding the area, history, beaches, tours, restaurants. We've stayed at more B and B's than I can count. This one truly stands out!

We stayed at the Cape Hatteras B&B for 5 nights and it was amazing! The breakfast was delicious, with several meal options and 3 different seating times you could choose. The B&B is very close to the beach, the rooms are nicely decorated and the innkeepers make you feel right at home!

Room Tip: We stayed in room Emily and we loved it!

I hate writing a review for a trip we took in July 2013; but i really wanted to type up something because i love giving great reviews and this def. deserves that. My husband and i stayed here towards the end of July for a 3 day weekend to celebrate our anniversary. The place was perfect for that type of trip. We asked if we could check in early, they called us 2 hours before check in to let us know our room was ready which was very nice of them. The rooms were clean, we had one with an updated bathroom and it was lovely. They made breakfast for us everymorning, we had a few choices and they were all great. The husband and wife who run the B&B are super sweet, and completely accommodating on every level. They were very helpful, and do a great job running their B&B. I would have to add it is one of the best places to stay in Hatteras, very clean, updated and modern compared to the other Inn's and B&B's in the area. They have chairs, towels, umbrella's, boggy boards, surf boards, beach bags, you name it they have it for your convenience. When we had breakfast in the mornings we spoke to the other guest who where staying there, and they were also in agreement it was a great place to stay. For many of them it was their second or third time coming down and staying at that B&B. All and all we had a great, time and enjoyed this more modern and updated B&B. The only thing i might change, would be they serve lunch and dinners too, because breakfast was soooo good :-)
