My wife called this camping, but the cabin we were in was very luxurious, and well appointed. We did not get to use the fireplace, but we did use the barbecue with some wonderful results. (hint: bring charcoal). The beds were great, the proprietors wonderful and the setting marvelous. Like others we realized that the biggest detraction (and convenience) was the proximity of Interstate40- the section opposite was the first real passing zone after making it though the curves of the Smoky Mountains, therefore the ambiance was affected only a bit by the noise of the highway which died down in the wee hours. The big house itself looked like a jewel. The rolling hillside was a great kite flying site. And our Porch was a wonderful setting for our daughters birthday party. We were welcomed by "Pablo" the resident black cat-not sure if he was official or just self-appointed welcoming committee, but he was there and was one of the most enjoyable companions during our stay

We stayed in a cabin at Honey Hill for a short visit to Asheville. Cheryl and Gretchen were wonderful hosts and made us feel very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing! It was a great way to start the day and it's fun to visit with other guests.

It's a short drive into Asheville but that allowed us to explore the area which we probably wouldn't have done if we were staying in the city. We would highly recommend a stay here. We look forward to returning.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the cabin and its fireplace. The kitchen is well equipped with all you need to cook, if you want to. Wind was howling one night but otherwise a very quiet and peaceful stay.

First a big thank you to Gretchen and Cheryl for accommodating the dietary needs of my boyfriend. They are great hosts and made us feel welcome every step of our stay. We had a beautiful room with a large bathroom. Plenty of room and very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing both days. Fruit and yogurt parfait with homemade granola and veggie omelet with hash-brown potatoes the first day and stuffed french toast with fresh berries and praline bacon the second day. Amazing food and service. The only suggestion I would make is that they either offer a small fridge for the guests to have water and cold drinks or at the minimum a water cooler with hot and cold water. The Kuerig was not functioning very well while we were there and we struggled to make hot tea. But a great experience over all and highly recommend.

Thanks so much for the great review and we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Our apology for the issues you had with the Keurig coffee maker. We wish you had brought it to our attention so that we could have remedied the situation. We will definitely test the machine and replace it if necessary.

We stayed in the Balsam Mountain cabin for a trip to Asheville. Upon arriving we were welcomed by Gretchen who was very friendly, helpful, and gave us advice on local places and restaurants to visit. Checking in was simple and quick so we could begin enjoying our vacation asap. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and charming. It is about 15 minutes to downtown Asheville, which is perfect because it's close but still away from the hustle and bustle. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the appliances and cooking ware we needed to make a few meals in. The inn and cabins are not too far away from great hiking and biking trails and more beautiful waterfalls than you could ask for.

Room Tip: Balsam Mountain cabin was great. It is small, but was perfect for just the two of us. It has a nice large porch and is not too close to the other cabins. There are lots of windows for natural light and the little loft made me feel like a kid again.

We stayed at a cabin in Honey Hill for our visit to Asheville. The cabin was very clean and quiet. The staff was very friendly. It is a 15-20 minutes drive to Downtown Asheville and Biltmore areas. The cabin had a nice porch with some rocking chairs overlooking the mountains.
