“Love this place!”
Reviewed 24 October 2012

Pisgah View Ranch was a real treat. The cabins are rustic but clean and well furnished, the food is fabulous, and the staff was fantastic. Dori took us on 4 rides over 2-1/2 days and was a delightful guide who truly loves her job. Cindy checked on us regularly to make sure we were OK. The food was good Southern cooking and there was plenty of it. Hope to get back again. Thanks Cindy!

Cindy, the manager, and all of her staff are very friendly and helpful. The cabins are dated and need some paint and repair but they are comfortable and clean. With a beautiful view of the 6,000+ feet-high Mt. Pisgah, the ranch offers in addition to horseback riding -- tennis, horseshoes, shuffleboard, swimming, fishing, hiking, and an indoor game room. Delicious, southern, home cooked meals are prepared and served family style three times a day by the cook, Ben, and his wait staff. We also enjoyed just sitting on our screened porch, rocking, reading, and resting.

We checked into PVR and met with Cindy who is one of the family members that own this neat place. Cindy is very nice and will make sure you are comfortable and get the answers to whatever questions you may have. All of the staff are polite and glad to help. The horseback riding gal's are great and very willing to get you the horse that will work best with you. The waitstaff keep bringing the great grub if you ask for it! Be sure to check out the Gameroom for some low tech fun playing ping-pong or billiards. The campfire and Some-More's they had for us Friday night was fun and the lessons on lassoing and whips was really neat. Bruce plays his guitar by the campfire and sounds a lot like Willie Nelson, at least I though so! Cindy will give you a trail map so if you like to hike ask her for one. We took the Waterfall Loop (about 4 miles maybe) but even if we never found the WF, I guess because of the foliage, you should get that map and head out on a trail.

We had a Groupon for PVR, so with all meals, 4 horse back rides and more I thought it was reasonably priced.

It is true that some of the cabins are weathered but this might be normal for a ranch of this nature and I'm sure the owners will correct things when they can. Maintenance is an ongoing effort as any of you homeowners very well know. But in no way did any of this effect or trip negatively. As I said earlier, every thing was very clean too.

I though the food was pretty good, my wife thought the vegetables were sometimes overcooked. Oh well! Oh - the Chocolate Tart Cake was outstanding, too bad the chef would not share the recipe. :(

Be sure to play Bingo in the Pisgah Room one night. We won a nice walking stick and a PVR sweatshirt that my daughter was glad to get. I had forgotten how much fun Bingo can be!

We met some interesting guests and staff and had a lot of fun and relaxation there, so if you think a Ranch would be something interesting for your family to do, I would recommend trying PVR out.

Room Tip: We stayed in the "A-Frame", there where just three of us so we had no issues with space.

Set in the beautiful NC mountains near Asheville is a very homey place to spend a couple of nights. Although the ranch is somewhat shabby and rundown; the cabin and dining room are very clean. This is a nice place for solitude and to be treated like family. Meals are served family style with an abundance of tasty dishes. The entire staff (office, meal servers, and wranglers) were extremely friendly and helpful. The horses were gentle and easy to ride along the steep and climbing trails. They also have activities each evening such as roping and wood burning.

Wonderful weekend. The staff treated us just like family. So quiet and beautiful scenery. The cottages and ranch house were so clean. The horse back riding was great and the guides went out of their way to make you feel safe. I had never rode before and they made me feel at ease. The food was good old, southern food that was absolutely delicious and there was plenty of it. We looked forward to the camp fires every night and the entertainment. Most relaxing weekend we have had. This is definitely our new weekend hideaway. Our new home away from home.

Room Tip: Cindy is a great help with paring you with the right cottage.

Absolutely loved it!! A dude ranch...rustic, casual, easy going, nothing fancy, good clean fun. My children said it was the one thing they loved doing all summer. It beat out all the other trips we did this year. We felt like family the moment Cindy greeted us. It took us back and grounded us which we needed. The view could not be beat. The meals, highly suggest the all inclusive, were more than we expected. Love breakfast!! Fresh, homemade always.
Thank you for the hospitality! We have decide to make this our annual family vacation.

Room Tip: We loved our A-frame house for a family but it was the first time. It did have a fireplace. The lit...

My mom and I travelled to Pisgah Ranch in August 2012. When we first got there we thought it was a bit run down. DON't let that interfer with all the Fabulous aspects of this "adventure". In about 24 hours we were soaking in the fresh mountain air and the beatiful views. There is plenty to do with swimming, hiking, horseback riding, cowboy shooting and campfires. The staff is fabulous, friendly, incredibly helpful and warm. There are no TVs (except in the club house) and no cell phone reception. It is a wonderful way to reconnect back with your family, yourself, and nature. I will be going back to this fabulously simple and laid back ranch.

Room Tip: Look on line there are many different cabin choices. Also Cindy (who is one of the family members a...
