I adored everything about this property. The character of the old home, all of the land, the river. It was so quiet and peaceful minus the family. The air was fresh. Plenty of places for my dogs to explore. On the downside, there are no locks on the bathroom doors, and the owner is planning on building more so quaintness and privacy may disappear. But for now, enjoy the show from the lightning bugs at sun down. Put your toes in the cool river, read a book on one of the many decks or porches, and enjoy. It is a lovely place to escape from the world.
I love old houses - absolutely adore them - so it was such a treat to stay in such a beautifully preserved home in the most relaxing setting. The house is off the pages of a magazine, and its many indoor and outdoor living areas allow you to experience the indoors and outdoors in many different ways. We loved it so much we stayed in for dinner most nights - luckily there is a very good Ingles market down the hill with plenty of local produce and a very good butcher shop and wine selection - so we could have a lovely meal and hear the river flow by. Easy access to all of the area's sites and outdoor activities. I am going to miss having my morning coffee on one of the three outdoor areas and listening to the birds sing, so we will have to visit again soon.
