Friendly staff awful food. Fish is all previously frozen and mostly all fried. Don't ask to substitute a baked potato for fries "I can't do that, the kitchen would not be happy." Stay away if you really appreciate quality seafood.

My family loves steamed crab legs and low-country boiled seafood. After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor, we decided to walk down the boardwalk and eat at Olde Salty's (which was less than 1/2 mile from our condo). We arrived in the late afternoon and for the first few minutes we were the only customers in the restaurant. It is a very casual, quaint little place with a relaxed atmosphere. The waitress was friendly and very attentive and made sure our teas were filled promptly and continued to check and see if we needed anything. My youngest son ordered fish and fries, and he ate almost every bite of the fish (which says a lot because he's a picky eater) plus he even tried the steamed shrimp and then kept wanting more. The rest of the family ordered variations of steamed seafood platters to include crab legs, shrimp, oysters, and clams. I had Old Bay seasoning (yum!) on my seafood and they ordered Cajun seasoning. We decided the crab legs were some of the freshest steamed crab we have ever had (and we've eaten at seafood restaurants in at least 12 southern beaches). Also, the shrimp was very tasty. They have a good selection of side dishes also, but we missed the boiled potatoes, corn-on-the-cob, and sausage which normally accompanies these types of seafood platters. Last year we ate at Michael's Seafood twice and the second visit the seafood did not seem as fresh as the first visit, but I think we did have more food (larger portions of side dishes like the boiled potatoes, corn, and sausage) at Michael's for a few dollars less. In other words, we paid a little more to eat at Olde Salty's, but in my opinion the fresh taste was worth it if you are mainly going for seafood.

We visited this restaurant since it was close to our hotel. The most appreciated meal was the kids grilled cheese sandwich. My tuna steak was room temperature. The fries were probably Ore-Ida, and not many of them.

Service was good, but the food didn't match. Not worth a return visit.
