Dear Will W,

Please allow me this opportunity to apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with your stay at our hotel. I appreciate your taking the time in completing a review and of advising us of your dissatisfaction which is the first step towards improvement of our services. I can assure you that your concerns have not gone unnoticed and has prompted us to look into these issues. I do apologize that our rates were increased during the special event for Parents Weekend which also was a home UNC Football game.

The Hampton Inn & Suites is committed to providing our guest with the highest quality services and facilities. We sincerely regret we fell short of our goal in this instance. We would like the opportunity to welcome you back in an effort to provide you the level of service you expect from Hilton Hotels.

Your willingness to share your experience is genuinely appreciated. If you find yourself visiting the Chapel Hill area again, please call me and I will be happy to reserve you a room.

Kind Regards,

Nice brand new rooms, but check in was horrible for parents weekend. A good walk to UNC. I would not stay here again for the price I paid. There are other hotels nearby that are far less and not as expensive. Have always been a fan of Hampton Inns, but this one fell short of my expectations.

Dear L Blair,

Please allow me this opportunity to apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with your stay at our hotel. I appreciate your taking the time in completing a review and of advising us of your dissatisfaction which is the first step towards improvement of our services. During parents weekend UNC hosted a Football game. During special events rates do increase due to the demand in this area. I apologize that the rate and check in did not meet your expectations.

The hotel is a well designed contemporary with all the amenities one would need to conduct business, relax with family or meet with friends. We were blessed with a HHilton Honor upgrade that was very much appreciated. Beds were too hard or firm for our liking but we managed well.

Clean, large rooms, new furnishings. VERY helpful staff, adequate (nutritionally) breakfast, excellent coffee. BUT, typical of both Hilton/Hampton/Shiloh and Choice/etc hotels... someone somewhere has a demonic need to frustrate (and anger) coffee-drinkers. TOTALLY INADEQUATE in-room coffee "condiments". What is it with y'all? does Hampton upper management get off watching security tapes of guests staggering to the front lobby begging for enough creamer for 2 cups of coffee? Or is there some management challenge cup to see which room occupant (male, female, gorgeous, or hideous) staggers down in the least/most revealing attire while begging for JUST ONE MORE PACKET OF CREAMER...? Golly, I know things are tough... but how about a condiment packet for EACH brew-kit??? yeah, somewhere Frau Blucher is vatching .... but take a chance, and leave enough creamers for TWO cups of coffee./.. WOW. Signed... occupant. (a guest would be provided whitener with coffee. An occupant pays you money.) Who won during my stay?

This is a new hotel that is in Carrboro within walking distance to downtown Chapel Hill, Franklin St, and UNC. Carrboro has great dining and drinking options that are very near this hotel ( of particular note, Acme, Tyler's Tap Room, Neal's Deli, Six String Brewery).
We stayed there a week or two after the hotel opened so they were still working out some kinks. Also there is still construction going on in the retail portion of the building and the parking garage.
The regular king rooms are very small but furnished nicely. Shower is nice but bathroom counter space is small. Closet is very shallow. Coffee maker in the room but no fridge or microwave. If you want wine or cocktails in your room in anything other than a paper cup you better pack your own. There is a $5.00 charger per night to park.
Bottom line...I will stay there again but this hotel does not replace The Carolina Inn or The Franklin Hotel.
