We stayed here for a wedding and it was a wonderful place to stay. For the very reasonable prices we got a lot. The bedroom was very large and we had a turn down service every night.

The only negative was we booked a cab and were told it was $30 but we had to pay $70.

Things couldn't have worked out better for us at the Sienna Hotel, a quiet gem of a place located just off 15-501 in Chapel Hill (also very close to Trader Joe's, for those of you "in the know…"). A bonus for us was that it's part of the Marriott Autograph Collection, so we earned MR points for our stay. I can't say enough good things about the staff--every one of them was superlative in service, gracious, kind, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. One person in particular, Ryan, was really considerate, and gave my wife great suggestions on how to properly deal with a painful muscle in her leg.

The room was spacious and quiet, with marble floors and an upscale frameless shower in the bathroom. Cookies were served every afternoon at the front desk, and fresh fruit was available every morning. The breakfast was sumptuous, delivered with timely service by a smiling waitress who remembered my name after one visit to the restaurant. Turn down service was provided every evening, accompanied by CHOCOLATES!

All in all, it was a very impressive hotel (in spite of the lack of a pool or a grand ballroom) because the staff made us feel at home from the time we set foot in the parking lot, until the minute we left. If we're ever in Chapel Hill again, we know where we want to stay!

I've been putting off writing this review because frankly I couldn't find the right superlatives that didn't sound trite and overblown. What a nice hotel. What a perfect place for three friends on a garden-viewing roadtrip to spend a couple of nights. The friend who came from England was having problems with the sudden, very early heat; The Siena Hotel gave her a wonderful refuge where she could cool off in her room or in the lobby or in the wonderful, wonderful seating area in front of the hotel.

Outside the front doors and along the front of the lobby are various seating areas with modern rattan couches and chairs or comfortable table and chairs for eating. All are under cover and while you look out to the parking area and street, the shrubs, fountain, and benches make the area feel secluded and very enjoyable. The lobby has several seating areas, including a large table and chairs for spontaneous get-together. The bar, located in the lobby, has great tables and sumptuous chairs for a leisurely drink or meal -- in fact, after eating in the restaurant, we found we enjoyed eating in the lobby area better because there was more to see (after all, we had spent many days together on the road already....).

The food was spectacular -- the focus of course is on Italian and the seafood is fresh and pasta is inventive and al dente. Breakfast was excellent, with even lowly english muffins presented creatively on a rectangular plate with pats of butter and jelly.

Our rooms (two adjoining) were just wonderful. The beds were very comfortable with a variety of covers and pillows sufficient that three menopausal women all found a combination that worked very well for a good night's sleep. The turn down service is fun -- chocolates! The chair and ottoman in the room is a nice touch and very comfy for relaxing in (but if you get up before your roommate and want to sit for a bit, the leather makes a noise everytime you move which wakes them up.....). The bathrooms are GREAT -- big and lined in marble with a large tub (shower is in the tub). Our only very, very minor gripe was no place to put a towel to have it handy after taking a shower except to hang it over the curtainrod, which was problematic for the short member of our party.

The staff was without exception friendly and helpful -- the maids smiled and said hello, the front desk could not help us too much, all the restaurant folks were warm and friendly, and the various folks who worked in the lobby were always reaching out to people to help and say good morning. The hotel has a shuttle van that is very, very handy; we used it to go into Chapel Hill for dinner and the driver was really nice, friendly, and drove very well.

Should any of us have a reason to go to Chapel Hill again, we will definitely stay at The Siena Hotel -- it is a very romantic and beautiful hotel with excellent service.
