It's not many restaurants where you have an actual table cloth to eat on. But everyone deserves to be pampered every now and then. My wife and I got the buffet for lunch. The food was well seasoned and hot. The service was excellent, very much people friendly.

Only breakfast, but white table cloths anyway, plus a rose on each table. Excellent service and food. The decor and colors were so peaceful. Our waiter was very personable and helpful. Coffee cups stayed full.

I finally visited the infamous brunch at Carolina Crossroads and I'm still not sure what all the hype is about. The hotel and restaurant is nicely decorated and has lots of character & charm, however the food is just average and the selection is minimal & doesn't make sense. For example, bacon, sausage, eggs (made from liquid or powder) and no hash browns, toast or grits!! For $30, I expected far more food but was truly disappointed. We didn't have reservations for the two of us, so we had to sit in the bar area and not in the "fancy" dining room, however the dining room was far from crowded/full. There were 3 other African American couples in there also, but I figured that to be coincidental. Our server, Cheyenne, was hospitable and very accomodating. I won't return to CC...there are far too many great brunch spots in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area.

The breakfast was great. Ordered from the menu the first day, and the buffet the next. Everything delicious. The dinner was odd. My husband's scallops were too salty. My Vietnamese quail was delicious but skimpy. The bread pudding dessert was delicious, but two 2-inch triangles on a huge platter was disappointing to say the least. So you eat four bites, and you're left looking at wide expanses of white plate. For a bunch of money.

We ate here at lunch - there is a lunch menu with a range of choices from sandwiches and soup to meals (about 20 choices) - all looked good as they passed our table and the bisque was excellent. Deserts were good too. (Also the cocktails - try the cosmopolitans)

Friendly wait staff and a very interesting building with information about its history lining the hallway on the approach to the restaurant - so arrive before your reservation or you'll end up late!

We were told the evening menu is just as good - all food is the choice of the chef, always a good sign!
