“New name, new menu”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 May 2013

Spice Street has been renovated and rebranded as City Kitchen. Menu is interesting and the food is good. Good lunch destination. Have not been there for dinner yet.

“Sorry it's gone....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 April 2013

City Kitchen is an okay replacement for Spice Street; but a bit too precious and pretentious. The old Spice Street was a bit more relaxed and fun.

“Great New Menu at City Kitchen (formerly Spice Street)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 February 2013

There is a new energy here, thanks to the new manager, Emma Dunbar, and reinvigorated design and menu from Giorgios Bakatsias. The food was wonderful, the service attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere fun.

“Lost it's luster”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 January 2013

Owners have changed Spice Street to "City Kitchen". Decor is lost, menu is lost, the place just doesn't excel at much. Used to be a pretty lively bar...not so much anymore.

“Directionless”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2012

More of a pick-up bar than a serious restaurant. Menus seems unfocused and staff has a high turnover rate. Located in University Shopping Mall. Durham/Chapel Hill is an excellent restaurant town and their are many better destinations.
