“Bland”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2013

In all fairness, this has got to be another "ethnic" restaurant that is jaded by the fact that college kids will eat anything if you call it something exotic. I have eaten at Thai restaurants around the world, including Sydney Australia, where more is expected. This being the only Thai restaurant for miles around, maybe the younger crowd is impressed by it. I was not. I ordered take-out, the spicy chicken with rice and coconut milk sauce. What I got can only be described as something that Campbell's would not bother putting in a can.

The chicken was chunks of white meat that looked like someone had hand picked off of last night's bones. The rice was packed into a separate container, and the only color in the meal was one tiny slice of those Thai red peppers that are usually abundant in the meal. As for spicy? I could have gotten more flavor out of a pack of ramen noodles. Plus, the lady at the front counter was really unfriendly.

But again, it may just be all in keeping with this snotty college town. Who knows. Don't waste your time or money on this place.

“One of my favorite "don't want to cook tonight" restaurants”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 April 2013

This is our go-to restaurant when my husband and I don't feel like cooking. The atmosphere is quiet, the customer service is very good and the prices are reasonable. We love all of their dishes (especially the spicy ones). I'd recommend our favorite dishes but I don't remember the Thai names. What more can you ask for? My college-aged daughter always asks us to take her here for dinner when she is home. It is truly our family favorite.

“Pleasant Surprise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 April 2013

Since this restaurant is set in a strip mall, we didn't expect much, but we were very pleasantly surprised! The proprietors have gone out of their way to make the restaurant feel slightly more upscale, the service is prompt, and the food is very good. The selection of dishes is nice, with a bit of something for everyone. Our dishes were fresh and filling, and the beer and wine was reasonably priced. I tried the plum wine since it's a specialty and was pleased! For the area, this is a tremendous value.

“A favorite”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 March 2013

We've been going to this Thai restaurant for about 15 tears intermittently, and its a favorite. Its our go to place for regular small family celebrations like birthdays and the like. OK, the decor hasn't changed in many years, its in strip mall, and the menu is about the same, but the food consistency has been very good, good, and the family that run it is very friendly and helpful. Always good load of diners - most local - which speaks volumes.

“Good Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 January 2013

We recently moved to Chapel Hill and were craving Thai food. We decided to try this restaurant based on reviews on this and other sites.
Food: the food was generally good. The menu is standard, nothing very unusual, but we enjoyed the meal. We got the Crispy Vegetarian Spring Rolls (Good), Vegetarian Green Curry with fresh tofu (excellent), Basil Fried Rice (Good) and the Chu Chee Pla (Fried Catfish in a Red Curry) (Excellent). The portions are substantial. Decent beer and wine menu.
Ambiance: Nice, better than the usual Thai Restaurant.
Service: Average. Slow at times and prompt when you flag them down and ask for something.
Overall, a good meal, we will be back.
