The hotel was very nice and comfortable. Lots of space to do what you need.

The staff was especially accommodating. We had a lot of arrangements to make associated with a wedding. Storing food for a party, materials to move around, transportation needs, etc. Whatever we needed, the staff helped us with it. Couldn't have asked for a nicer stay.

Thanks for a great weekend!

Friendly staff, excellent bed, great shower, easy access to car in underground garage. Shops, pubs, restaurants within steps, university a ten-minute walk. Complimentary sit-down breakfast with dishes MTO. Average-sized rooms, but very nicely appointed, attractive floors and lobbies. No pool.

Staff is friendly and welcoming. Free breakfast (sit down and served) included in room rate a definite plus. Didnt have time to check out the bar but looked nice. Location can't be beat -right on Franklin street. I liked the balcony off our room-my wife and I finished a bottle of wine out there after dinner. The room was very small and here is my main complaint. One would not expect this from the hotel website. There was barely room for bedside tables with lamps, the bed and a chest and one chair. The bed was very comfortable however. The bath was small and one could not simultaneously open the shower door and the door to the bathroom; a design problem. In- room climate control noisy. Walls poorly acoustically insulated. This might work for a group who reserved a block of contiguous rooms for a get together, where the balconies communicate with one another, but for the weekender or business traveler, my title sums it up.

This hotel is a great location in the heart of Chapel Hill. You can park your car in their nice parking garage and walk to tons of great bars, restaurants, activities nearby. The rooms are spacious and comfy. The staff is polite and incredibly helpful. The hotel is very clean and nicely decorated. We love staying here.

There is no doubt that we will return to The Franklin next time we are in the area. The staff made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in the door and the theme continued throughout our stay. Any minor problems that we had were quickly and satisfactorily addressed. David and Warren were especially attentive; however, everyone we encountered exhibited a contagious enthusiasm for the hotel.
We had a room with a balcony overlooking Franklin Street. Most of the time we were available to use it, it rained a bit. Nevertheless, I liked the light it afforded the room and did manage to sit out briefly in the evening. The room was really clean and the bed very comfortable. They offer a complimentary pillow menu which includes a white sound machine. Wifi is free, as is parking.
The full sit down breakfast is included and my husband and I enjoyed it each morning. Our servers there were outstanding. This time of year, the lobby/patio lounge is open weekday evenings and is quietly elegant. We did enjoy a cocktail one night during our stay.
I hope to later review the three restaurants we visited for dinner. but our favorite was "Kitchen," recommended on tripadvisor. For a quick lunch, visit the popular Mediteranean just across the street.
