“Nice walk”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

This is a nice free attraction to take the family. The greenhouse is small and only takes 20 minutes. The outdoor gardens are much more impressive.

“i had been once before, looks run down”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2014

I decided to return for a second visit, once 2-3 years ago...but I have to say I thought this time it looked lackluster, run down, overgrown with trees, ect...not a lot of color, not a lot of life to the place. the place really has potential, but I think it really needs a major face lift and some tlc.

“Small but nice greenhouses & well-maintained gardens*”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2013

*But first, please note that the physical address of the gardens (and parking) is not the main university address that is currently shown on trip advisor, but 9090 Craven Road, Charlotte, which will take you directly to the greenhouse/garden area within the UNC-Charlotte campus. The greenhouses are small and appear to be mostly of a "working" nature rather than a public attraction, but still nice to walk through. The gardens and "glen" have altogether a few miles of trails -- some marked, some not -- and a wide variety -- mostly marked -- of plants along the trails. Late spring is probably the prettiest time to go, but all seasons offer a peaceful stroll through a very attractive wooded area. Suggested donation for a visit is $2.00 per person.

“Not developed for tourist”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 August 2013 via mobile

Just a wooded area on UNCC campus. Not well marked. Difficult to find parking near the gardens. You would likely have to park at one of the parking deck and fumble your way to the garden if you can find an entrance. Don't know what really classified this place as a tourist attraction. There's similar place that's better within less than two hours drive.
Repeat, this place is not a tourist attraction.

“McMillan Greenhouse and Gardens”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2013

After enjoying a walk through a very diverse greenhouse we enjoyed all of the trails and hikes attached to the botanical gardens. At first we did not know where to go, but after finding the entrance we had a great time exploring, reading, and taking pictures of God's creation. Next time, we will need to remember bug spray to keep the mosquitos away.

*Getting a parking pass is free and easy
