The location downtown was very convenient. We visited on a Sunday and found free street parking. The curator of this museum has a special talent for displaying very interesting things. There are two pieces by Chuhuly that are very different than his usual style. Thoroughly enjoyable visit.

While my husband and son were at Charlotte Motor Speedway I took in the Mint and was so glad I did. So many beautiful things! The craft displays were outstanding. It was easy to spend a couple of hours.

My husband and I really enjoyed our quick, two-hour visit to the Mint Museum Uptown. At the time, they had a World's Fair exhibit that was fascinating. All staff members we came across were really knowledgeable not only about this exhibit, but about other pieces throughout the museum as well. Definitely worth a stop. Plus the building itself is really beautiful.

The Mint Museum Uptown is Charlotte's largest museum dedicated
to the fine arts. The current structure was designed by Machado & Silvetti
of Boston & opened in 2010. At any given time, the museum displays a
revolving exhibition of its current collections as well as specialty exhibitions
covering a wide variety of topics in the arts. Collections housed here are
American Art, Contemporary Art, Craft & Design (perhaps the strongest
collection) & some European Art. This is a wonderfully peaceful space
to get away from the bustle of Uptown. The exhibits are always interesting.

In addition to the art, the museum has lectures, films, children's programs,
& music to name a few. The building is located at the Levine Center for the Arts-
a cultural district which includes two other museums, the Knight Theater, and
a wide variety of restaurants, one of which is in the Mint building. I have been
here often & have never been disappointed.
