Looking for something to do in Charlotte. Check out the happenings at the Mint Museum. I recently attended the "WOW - Wine on Wednesday" event at the Mint Museum in Uptown Charlotte. This was my first visit but I will definitely be back. I had the opportunity to enjoy four hours of FREE gallery access. The WOW included a cash bar serving red and white wine from 5:30-8:30 p.m and live soft music with table seating. I sipped and enjoyed the collections, exhibitions and projects. The Wine on Wednesdays is not a weekly event but a special happening it appears but the next event Wine on Wednesdays will be on 6/18/14. During this visit, my favorite exhibition was the Allure of Flowers! The Allure of Flowers After Hours also seemed to be another great happening at the Mint.

Wasn't planning a museum visit on my weekend with friends who live in Charlotte but glad we did. Terrific museum with lots of great permanent and visiting exhibits. Especially loved the featured exhibit of works from women photographers from National Geographic. Spent hours viewing every photo and story. Brilliant. The Mint is definitely worth a visit.

Recently visited this museum and was really not disappointed. They have some nice collections of modern day art. Especially liked their collections of glass shapes. At 17 dollars the museum is not very cheap, but you get to visit a second location for free. The whole museum has a modern/bright feel. We spent about 2 hours in the museum, without getting bored.

The collection here is not like typical art museums, and it's definitely worth the trip. From intricately carved wooden vases to a piece made from old dishwashers...there is a little something for everyone!

We were so pleased to be able to see this gallery. What a beautiful building! There's a great variety of work. They have these really near backpacks for kids to help them explore the gallery. This is worth a stop of several hours.
