This was the first visit for my and me to the Mint Museum. The standard exhibits along with the traveling exhibits had a little for everyone, from sculpture to wood to paper to oils to theater costumes. They even have an area for children to paint and learn about art. It was nice that they do allow photography provided you do not use a flash.

If you are truly interested in art, this is an interesting museum. We went specifically for this exhibit and it did not disappoint. I would say this is a 2-3 hour museum if you are interested in the collections. However, I think it is small and specific and may not be the most interesting for young families. Having said that, there did appear to be a nice sized children and family room, but that always means one parent stays behind. The photography exhibit and costume exhibits are what drew us there and we loved our visit.

Beautiful building, friendly people but heavily American art with not too many names I recognized. A sampling of various types of art. Some important images from the civil rights battles.
Not sure it’s worth the trip.

I had a half day of rest following a very busy weekend and chose to have a wander through this museum. I'm so glad I did! The featured exhibit at the time was a display of costumes and their derivation from Broadway designer William Ivey, which is outstanding and well worth the entrance fee. I also loved the central permanent exhibits of every type of art and craft you can imagine~if you are an artist/crafter you will love this place, and get lots of inspiration. Don't forget the museum store, I spent WAY too much money there!

It is very well decorated museum of art. It costs $3 for half an hour in day time. Very good collection of art.
