“Great Hotel, great location”

We booked this hotel thru priceline for $79 to attend a Panther's game. The location of the Hotel is perfect, within walking distance of many bars, restaurants, museums and the stadium. The room was nice and clean and the bed was super comfi.

The rooms are TINY. They advertise resturants and shops which were closed during my 3 day stay. We had the King rooms which I still believe the bed was actually a queen. Nice linens. The robes were not plush. Room service was great and punctual. The staff was friendly and helpful. The phone in the room worked some of the time. You would expect all the upgrades for this pricey hotel but NO.....tube televisions thru out! The rainfall shower was superb. Great location to resturants, muesums, touring and nightlife. This hotel has the price tag of The Ritz but the stay of The Holiday Inn.

Thank you for your candid feedback from your recent stay at The Omni Charlotte. We do appreciate that you pointed out the positive aspects of your stay but are even more appreciative of the opportunity to learn where we can make improvements. Unfortunately, during quieter business times many of the shops in the area operate on limited hours. We are anticipating the arrival of flat screen tv's in our guest rooms in 2010 and will share the remainder of your feedback with our management so that we may explore ways to enhance our offerings. We stayed at the Omni Hotel on December 30, 2009. This was a last minute idea for the wife and I, got the room thru Priceline for $69.00! When the site told me the hotel I initially thought "this is the oldest hotel in cente city Charlotte". but OK.

Let me tell you, we were blown away with the quality, cleanliness and hospitality, not to metion the room. From the curbside attendant who was very helpful and "on his second day", to the check in, it was well worth it.

We fully planned on asking for an upgrade when we checked in. When we did, we are assigned a double bed room, we then asked for a King. "No problem" stated the front desk clerk. I also asked for a city view. To my amazement we were upgraded to a Premiew Executive Kinfg Room, a two level upgrade. The way the towels were wrapped you would think you were on a cruise...the Speakman showeheads are awesome

This hotel is right in the center of the action in Charlotte, is clean, friendly and certainly luxuroius. I recommend this hotel!

My husband and I just returned from a one night stay at the Omni in uptown Charlotte. I found a great deal on Priceline for our trip. The rooms were spacious and clean, and hotel staff were eager to assist us. The location is awesome! There is a walk across to the Epicentre across the street where many restaurants and bars are located. We had dinner at Fleming's which was fabulous! We will stay here again when returning to Charlotte.

Overall, in terms of customer service and ambience, this hotel sucks. This was our wedding night stay, and I could not have made a worse choice then to stay at the Omni Charlotte. My wife and I had got married in a small ceremony earlier in the day, and I had secretly booked a stay at the Omni for our wedding night - close to good restaurants and bars in Charlotte where we could celebrate the evening.

I had called the hotel 3 times before, asking them to make special arrangements such as champagne on arrival, chocolate strawberries for my wife, and a nice quiet room for our stay. Despite them assuring me that 'everything was in place', when I arrived almost nothing was ready in the room and I had to chase the Concierge and Front Desk twice to get room service to deliver what I had ordered. It took over 25 minutes, and really let me down and blew the surprise for my new wife. That is despite me calling a week ahead!

Thats not all. I had stayed at this hotel before in 2008, and had a so-so experience staying in a regular room - but this time I had booked their so called 'Premier Executive' Room expecting a great deal more. What a let down. The room was not quiet as requested (they put us right by the elevators in a noisy coridoor). And the room itself was disappointing to say the least. The room was dark and cold when we arrived, the decor was early 90's, very dated and tired looking, and the bathroom was so small that you could barely open the door without knocking into the toilet. Looking out the window all you could see were construction workers on the opposite building, and the toilet gurgled all night too! The hotel has seen better days, and is stuck somewhere in the 90's.

There was more too... but overall I cannot believe their lack of attention to detail and overall tardy, poor quality service. It should not be down to the customer to chase Room Service after waiting 25 mins, or to be told silly excuses like 'the strawberries are still thawing' when I call up the front desk.

I would not stay at the Omni Charlotte again. Or recommend to friends or business colleagues. The hotel seems to have forgotten that in the service industry, location is not enough. You have to provide incredibly good quality service - and we experienced terrible service on our stay.

We booked our room several months before Thanksgiving for a 7 day stay. Our room was on the 14th floor which was an upgrade. During our stay we did check reports of worn rugs on other floors. From what we saw, this was corrected. Our room had two double beds and a CRT NTSC TV which worked great. Better than a HDTV like television without the HD cable service. The room was very clean and appeared to have been renovated recently. The bath towels were a decent size. We had one minor problem that the Hotel addressed without delay. If you have a problem, just let them know. Unlike some other Hotels, the Omni is staffed with personnel who can correct oversights. Newspapers were delivered daily to the room, daily turn down service upon request. Self parking was $15 daily, valet service $22 daily. Electrical outlets for charging 2 cell phones and lap top + other items. Except for some drunk “guests” the Hotel was a nice place to stay. We will be returning here next year.

We stayed at this hotel for one night on Nov 27, 2009. Our family attended a Charlotte Hornet's basketball game. The hotel is conviently located and in easy walking distance to the arena. Check in was a breeze. We arrived early and our room wasnt ready but the hotess immediately checked us into another room. The staff was friendly and we were quite pleased to find in our room, when we returned from the game, a bottled water, cookies, and milk. We also were most appreciative of the two complimentary morning beverages. The only complaint however minor would be that 2 lamps did not work. We are sure that the bulbs would have been replaced had we reported it during our stay. However, since we didnt intend to spend that much time in the room we didnt report it until check out. The hotess offered her apologies and seemed quite sincere. We would definately consider this hotel if we are in the Charlotte area again. (Parking was only half the cost of the advertised price)!!
