Stayed here for CIAA and it was amazing. Excellent service, nicely appointed room--the studio was HUGE & more then enough room for two. Everything was clean one exception was the glass on the bathroom counter--there was something white at the bottom. The only negative thing I have to say is that housekeeping never left us lotion and there was PLENTY on her cart. Breakfast was good--and I was pleased that they even had room service options. They offered no desserts but recommended a place that delivered desserts and they were great! LOVED IT!

Booked the penthouse for a night on the town, in the town. Upon arrival, we were promptly greeted by plenty of construction for the new Knight's ballpark, making getting there a challenge. Once we found our way to the entrance, the clerk at the desk decided that the phone call - possibly a personal call, possibly a take-out order - was much more important than our business. Regardless, we eventually made our way to the room, and it was nice in appearance. Not over-the-top or anything, but nice for a Residence Inn, and nice for our night out.

Unfortunately, the thermostat is the "hotter and colder" variety - not much different than the kind that used to be mounted under the window, it's just now on the wall. Is it really that much more to have the kind you set an actual temperature? It means that throughout the night, it gets way too hot, or way too cold, and makes for an uncomfortable night.

There are two televisions - one in the living area and one in the bedroom. The one in the living area works with the lineup card, while the one in the bedroom has the digital assignments, such as 76-0010 and whatnot, meaning you can't find anything (including HBO), so if you want to actually watch a show, you'll probably end up watching on the hard-as-a-rock sleeper sofa in the living area.

If you have to flush the toilet (and many people prefer this option), you lose all water in the bathroom. Not most, or even a particular temperature. It's gone. Not forever, so don't be completely alarmed. But for a few seconds, water completely stops. Not sure if this is unique to this room, or to the 11th floor, but it is a bit odd.

The hot breakfast is, well hot, but the offering wasn't the greatest. In fact, some other quick-serve, business-style hotels offer a better service and they are only deemed "continental". If you go to an Embassy Suites, with their made-to-order breakfasts, it's much, much better.

All-in-all, we had a passable night, but I'm not sure if I'd stay again.

Thank you for the feedback. I am so sorry that we did not exceed your expectations. We consistantly rank very high in both service and amenities. Yes, there is a lot of construction around our property right now. It is very unfortunate but we know that once it is complete we will have both a professional baseball field as well as a nice pubic park right beside us for our guests to enjoy. We have not had other complaints or issues with the water pressure after flushing and have verified that this is not occurring at this point. It must have been an isolated incident. The TV in the bedroom must have been a temporary replacement while the normal TV was being repaired. We have verified that both TV's have the same channel settings. Again, thank you for the feedback and we hope that you will give us another try once the construction subsides.

I guess the "hotel is nice" as others have said, BUT it is surrounded by several city blocks worth of construction on all sides! I realize this is out of the control of the hotel, but I also felt that they are deceptive in their advertising. It was said you could walk to features downtown...yes as a city person myself, walking two or three city block is no big deal. However, that walk is currently past blocks worth of construction with roads closed to traffic, sidewalks blocked off...a very unsafe environment. Plus construction that starts back up at crack of dawn, even on the weekend!

As for the hotel, I am a Platinum MR and this is a Residence Inn level of service. Upon arrival was assigned to a room that faced the parking lot -- as in was so low (despite coding for a high floor) that the room faced the concrete facade of the parking deck 15 feet away from the room. Was moved to a high floor eventually, where I then had a clear view of all the construction!

We left early and moved the three blocks to the Courtyard Marriott where we were indeed downtown and able to walk around to restaurants and shops etc safely.

Thank you for your honest and sincere feedback. Yes, we do currently have a lot of construction around the property. Unfortunately we cannot control that and if Charlotte wants to continue to become a world class city there will continue to be more construction in the Uptown area. We truely do try to pre-block our Elite Marriott Rewards Members in our best room locations but unfortunately occupancy levels and stay patterns sometimes deter our efforts. I am sorry for your less than stellar stay with us and we do hope that you will return again to our property after the immediate construction subsides.

You can't beat the upgraded rooms, friendly staff and convenience to uptown businesses. The evening socials on Monday to Thursday evenings with free beer and wine and a theme buffet spread are good if you just want to go back to the hotel and relax after a busy day. A great breakfast buffet every morning that starts at 6:30am during the week allows me to get to the office early. I have eaten from the menu that offers a wide variety of fares and have never been dissappointed. Do not pass up the made to order pizzas that offer a wide selection of toppings. The shuttle service starts at 7:00 am if you need a ride to your office in the rain. Walking from the hotel to uptown is completely safe and good exercise. The shuttle is also great for travel to and from restaurants or events in the evening. It is available until 11:00 pm and can save taxi fares.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front of the hotel offer a great night view of the city.

Just returned from Charlotte, NC from my weekend at CIAA. I must say staying at this hotel was the right thing to do. Not only is is close to the airport, it is right next door to the Bank of America Stadium where the Charlotte Panthers play. And if you are into baseball there will be a new minor league baseball stadium being built on the other side of the hotel. My two bedroom suite was great and had a really nice view. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding even if it did not provide any turkey or beef products for us non pork eaters. At night when the bar opened it was a lot of fun to just sit and mingle with friends and have a few drinks and if you were hungry their were things on the menu I'm sure you would like. The hotel does not provide airport shuttles, but they do offer rides to near by restaurants and shops. So if you are ever in town be sure to look up this hotel, I am sure you will like.

I used to stay exclusively at the Weston while in Charlotte until I visited a friend and fellow traveller who was staying at the Residence Inn. The pricing was comparable, maybe a little cheaper, but the accommodations were much better. The hotel is modern in style and decor, and it is clean and comfortable. The living area of my 1 bedroom non-smoking king bed suite was very comfortable, with a good floor-plan. The full kitchen is great to have on those stormy nights when I don't want to venture forth. Breakfast in the morning is included in the price of the room and is much better than the "continental" breakfast offered by many. The happy hour at 6PM each evening is an excellent excuse to kick back with a glass of beer or wine and chat with friends. The beds are very comfortable. This place is in a great location, within an easy walk to the many attractions of this city and close to public transportation. The staff are friendly and welcoming and, and the shuttle driver took me anywhere I wanted to go. A great place with great service. expect from a Residence Inn. We had good service at breakfast even though it was busy.

Room Tip: Look for a room with very low or high room number (501 or 520) to avoid being near the elevators.

This modern hotel was in a good location to walk into the city and it was close by to many attractions, it was also close by to the freeway. Staff were welcoming and rooms were clean, just what you expect from a Residence Inn. We had good service at breakfast even though it was busy.
