Dios Mio!! This place is wonderful. Great atmosphere as there are only a few tables. The food is fantastic. There is a good variety of things to pick from so there is something for all tastes ( but try the chimichurri ). The manager greats you at the door and the staff take care of you when you sit down. It is really nice to find a place like this that offers a different experience than most restaurants.

Have been to Malabar twice and the empanadas have been great both times. On the second visit, had snapper which was perfectly cooked served with spinach. I don't like spinach but actually enjoyed it. Hate beets but enjoyed the beet salad with cheese and pecans. Finished dinner with tres leches which was very good. Will frequent when I am in downtown Charlotte.

We were in town for business meetings and stayed downtown. A friend recommended Malabar. It isn't a big place but the decor is nice and cozy. We really enjoyed the canelones, spicy potatoes, stuffed roasted pepper, sautéed wild mushrooms, and grilled octopus. My coworker enjoyed a nice glass of Malbec. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We wanted to try based on the reviews we have read! However we were disappointed with the food; tried calamari ((to tough and hard to chew), empanadas (not enough flavor), and beef tapas (better of the 3). We didn't have reservations so sat at bar area. If going during busy times or large party make reservations due to limited seating! We love tapas and really expected more! The service was great and the bar team were very nice!
