located near the center city. A nice little city park with a fountain, two bridges and a concrete plaza. A statue of Martin Luther King that was not a very good likeness of King, but since the park borders Martin Luther King Boulevard it seems appropriate. I liked Freedom Park much better. I can't say that I would mark it out as a key destination to visit, but a nice place to visit for 15 minutes or so or to eat lunch while in the city. Not very many people in the park (1-2 people). Parking can be a bit problematic in the area, but a government building is adjacent to it. Despite signs warning you not to park there it seems to be unenforced on Saturdays. I was able to park right by the entrance. Glad to visit the city of Charlotte as it has one of the cleaner downtowns of any American cities that I have been to.
