Description: It's hard to believe that The Melting Pot has been on Kings Drive for 25 years! During that time, we have become known as a favorite restaurant by many in Charlotte and the surrounding region. We have built a solid reputation of phenomenal service through our expert servers, knowledgeable bartenders and our attentive managers. In fact, our regulars drive to our restaurant year after year from as far as Hickory, Asheville, South Carolina and even Virginia just to get their "Melting Pot fix." Make us part of your tradition, too! As for the fondue experience, well, you just have to try it for yourself. It's dinner and entertainment all stirred into one! While you can choose which courses you'd like, most guests indulge in our 4 course dinner including cheese, salad, entree and chocolate. Our creamy cheese fondues are prepared tableside. Each cheese is served with artisan breads and seasonal vegetables for dipping. Our fresh salads feature The Melting Pot's signature dressings. Customize your entree to your specific pallet, as entree items and seasonal vegetables are cooked at the table in one of our four premium cooking styles and a plethora of dipping sauces. From Thai peanut marinated tofu to filet mignon, we've got an option for everyone. For dessert, try the Yin & Yang chocolate, Flaming Turtle or choose from many other delicious options. And don't forget our famous Garlic and Wine Seasoning and signature chocolate covered strawberries to take home. The Melting Pot is a unique place to celebrate the special occasions in your life. Our Midtown location is known for its secluded booths and seating areas which are perfect for date night or double date night. Our quiet, intimate atmosphere offers a romantic place to sit close to the one you love. One of our recent guests said it best: The Melting Pot is "a great place to spend quality time because if you get a complete dinner, it will take about 2-3 hours." (Jeff R. Charlotte, NC, Trip Advisor, 3/14/2013) We also offer large party areas for milestones, birthdays, ladies night out or work celebrations. The Melting Pot is a cozy space to catch up with family over fondue without interruption. It's also fun to bring your kids, dress up and make a special night out of dinner- just because! Did you know that The Melting Pot Charlotte is vegetarian friendly and gluten free friendly? All of our menus can be customized and our servers and kitchen staff are happy to cater to any dietary restrictions or allergies without missing a beat. The Melting Pot naturally offers many healthy and lower calorie options as well. Regardless of diet, we want all of our guests to indulge, guilt free, and have the perfect night out. Whether vegetarian, carnivore or somewhere in between, our wide variety of menu items will leave you happy and satisfied. We are located right across the street from Little Sugar Creek Greenway and Uptown is minutes away. Fondue is the perfect precursor to seeing a ballet or Charlotte Symphony performance at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. It's also fun to bring the kids in for cheese and chocolate after seeing a movie at the IMAX theater at Discovery Place. Or come in for four courses after a day at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, Mint Museum, Levine Museum of the New South or the Harvey Gantt Center for African American Arts and Culture. We are close by Bank of America Stadium where the Panthers play football, and right around the corner from Time-Warner Cable Arena, where the Bobcats play and soon-to-be Charlotte Hornets play basketball. Uptown Charlotte is also home to Checkers Hockey, Knights Baseball and Hounds Lacrosse.

Made a late night reservation for dessert only. (After dining at Enso - amazing - for dinner and then catching a movie.) Hostess was very friendly. Server, David, not so much. Very short with us when taking out drink order, didn't explain how anything worked, or ask if we had ever been there before. After that, he just never came back to the table, so we ended up leaving after waiting and waiting. The manager Steve did call me afterwards, and I felt like he truely was concerned about our issue and invited us back for another try. I would have taken him up on the offer, however, I am not from Charlotte and will most likely not be in the area in the next few months.

Always a wonderful experience. This is the usual V-Day and Anniversary spot that my wife and I go to as this is her favorite restaurant in Charlotte. Always enjoyable, great wine list with a variety of new things to try. Would be nice if there was a bit more of an expected customer dress code (I showed up in a full suit and a guy walking out the door was in shorts and flip flops), but one of the greatest places to get a great dining experience.

We were invited by friends to join them for dinner here. We were unsure about having to do the "cooking" ourselves but it turned out to not only be a fun evening but the food was excellent. We all did the 4 course meal. When they first brought out the first course, I thought we were going to go away hungry. However, there was more than enough food for each course. We picked 2 different cheeses for the cheese fondue. The salads were very good on the 2nd course. 3rd course was the main entree. We had chicken and shrimp and steak. They let you pick the vegetables that would go with it. We had 2 different broths to cook them in. They also had 8 different sauces to accent the entrees. And the grand finale was the chocolate fondue. We were so full by then that we didn't get to overindulge. Our server was the BEST. When he saw our friends were deaf, he signed to them and surprised us all. We look forward to going back for another enjoyable evening.

Since we honeymooned first, my husband and I wanted to do something special the day after we got married so we decided to have a nice dinner at the Melting Pot.

We arrived for our 6:30 reservation and were seated up stairs in a romantic corner. Mike would be our server and took the time to explain how everything was done and asked any questions we had. You should know some things such as cheese and chocolate and cooking method have to be agreed upon by your party.

We decide to go with the 4 course experience. Nick gets the classic while I get steak lovers. We get cheddar cheese to start out with and Mike starts it out with beer. We both get a Cesar salad which has the additions of pine nuts which gives you a hint of sweetness. We have our entrée coq au vin style which includes burgundy wine with spices and mushrooms. We are given 6 sauces which are great with the gorgonzola port and the green goddess being excellent. And finish our chocolate with the flaming turtle with melted milk chocolate, caramel, and candied pecans served flambéed. They bring out garlic and wine seasoning which is divine and you can take one home for your self.

The place is a bit of a splurge but excellent for special occasions. Mike was an excellent server always right there and keeps the courses flowing from one to another and never needing to ask for anything.

Attentive waiters, good food and lower calorie healthy choices make this an excellent choice for special occasions or as often as you can get there.
