We'd been to the museum on Old Town san diego, which was great, but different. It's quite a bit larger and features MANY of the actual ( or reproduction) wagons and a deep history of that time period. This one, in Charlotte, is more modern, and features more info on 20th Century Wells Fargo, but still touches on hits' history. Most pleasant attendant; good way to spend 30-45 minutes.

Now this was great museum sharing the history of banking! Definitely worth a visit to learn how Charlotte plays a role it it. Interestingly it also exhibits some of the items you only see on TV and a great opportunity to look at it up close. If you are lucky, some of the photo booths will be working and you can get a 'classic' family photo! To make it all even better, it's free entry!!

There's a nearby underground car park for the bargain rate of $5 per session...& other attractions in the Levine pantheon of art museums could easily be walked-to from this one!
Plenty of food & beverage venues too--watch out though as many closed at weekends...this is Uptown!
Interactive exhibits engage, & story boards, objects & photos combine to deliver the history of so very much innovation in the USA of years gone by, one is sad to realise this has largely disappeared ..along with banking with trust & integrity for PEOPLE...how ironic Wells Fargo itself is one of the worst offenders in recent times!

Nonetheless scruples regarding paucity of banking morals aside, this exhibition is free(!) & banks don't give much away, so I recommend you take it !

Its really good! ..& fun!

I went here on a little walking tour with a friend. There is a little visitor's center here so you can get more information about things to do in the area. There are lots. The museum provided lots of history about Wells Fargo, the stage coach business in particular. Fun and informative.
