Charlotte Marriott City Center

Reviewed 19 August 2014

In Charlotte for work and stayed at the Marriott City Center. I enjoyed the stay as it's close to the office and plenty of things to do locally. The rooms were better than average and I don't really have any complaints about my stay at the hotel. The only problem I had was more to do with the weekend soccer event going on. Seems there were always emergency vehicle sirens going off and you can hear it quite well at the 12th floor. That and some drunk soccer fans being very disruptive in the halls even at 3am.
I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say that it was not their fault and just a lot of rowdy guests. I'd stay here again. The cigar bar downstairs was very good too... but they deserve their own review.

Room Tip: I don't know that any room was a bad room but the higher the better to get away from street nois...

The Marriott City Center was directly across from the Charlotte Convention Center. The location was perfect, the staff were courteous and the room was very nice. The hotel bar was a nice place to unwind and the hotel restaurant was very good. The restaurant outside area was a hidden gem that I really enjoyed eating at.

Room Tip: if you are into views you may want to verify such prior to getting your room.

Great location for all downtown activities. Close to the football and baseball stadium, and close to a number of great restaurants. The breakfast at the hotel offers a great selection, if we come cack to Charlotte we will stay here again

Traveling can be such a drain and or drag, well, that was until we checked into the Charlotte Marriott City Center. Two outstanding representatives of superior excellence provided at the time if check in was beyond belief, kind and courteous would be an understatement to say the least. JT and Keith are both models of customer service that can only be stated by saying, "No one Does it better", Go Marriott and Go JT & Keith, thank you for being extraordinary ambassadors of quality and excellence.

prime location for uptown charlotte. they are not shy about their prices, as this is the go-to location for business travelers, so they jack the rates up, knowing they will get it regardless.
nice hotel, there are cheaper hotels that are just as nice. but this is a solid choice.

This hotel is located at a superb location- Trade and Tryon , the heart of Charlotte. The staff and front desk are top notch, very professional, very nice.
The rooms themselves are a bit dated. The hall is noisy. The furniture, TV and rest of room a bit spartan. Beds OK, bath room a bit small and amenities a bit cheap.
Overall, a great location and if you are visiting Charlotte and not spending a lot of time in room, a good choice.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience about your stay at the Charlotte Marriott City Center. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed the hospitality service provided by our staff and I am sorry that we did not meet your expectations regarding the amenities of our sleeping rooms. We appreciate your feedback.
Fortunately, Marriott invests in renovations of the rooms every couple of years. As such, we have designers working on the next phase of enhancements.
We hope that in your future travels to Charlotte, you will choose our hotel again. We look forward to seeing you.
Best wishes!

As the title states, this hotel is very convenient for all the the major attractions in downtown Charlotte. Whether you are visiting the performing arts venues, museums or the multiple sports venues, this is a good location. Hotel is clean and comfortable with nice pool/exercise room facilities. Only flaws are the lack of free WiFi and parking. I'd stay here again.

Room Tip: Stay away from rooms next to the elevators--they are a bit noisy.
