I am continually amazed by the tremendous history (good and bad) of our United States of America. The museum provided brief portions of the history of the eastern native americans, including the time before European incursion, the transition from home made tools to trade items, the "Trail of Tears", and the many important figures along the way. I left with the urge to learn much, much more.

There was a retail shop and also an area where the craftsmen make their merchandise. A wide display of Indian crafts and jewelry.

The tour starts out kind of funky with a brief animated video of Cherokee belief about creation. Inside was very educational about history of the Cherokees in NC and their subsequent forced relocation to Oklahoma. There was also information about the other Civilized tribes who were also forced to move. There is almost too much information. I thought we were almost through it and there was much more. It would take you over 2 hrs if you stopped to read everything. it was well worth the price of admission. and of course there was a gift shop.

A wonderful collection of interesting and well displayed items of the Cherokee people. We were there late in the day or would have spent an even longer time there.

Much history about the Cherokee Nation. Very well done. Met with an elder of the Cherokee tribe who led group in prayer in both English and Cherokee...unique.
