“Not bad for a night”
Reviewed 23 August 2014

This hotel seems a little outdated but for staying across the street from the casino it wasn't a bad value. The hotel was clean and the room was large enough for three. The beds were comfortable and the shower was clean and had ample hot water. Wish all hotels had mini fridges but this one didn't. The included breakfast was ok but not much to sing about. If I was going to go to the casino I think this hotel would be good for most, unfortunately they are building a new hotel right beside it so make sure to check it out before deciding.

Overall, this hotel definitely met my expectations. The location to Harrah's Casino is excellent. My husband and I were easily able to walk to the casino from the Holiday Inn. There's a well lit pathway that leads to the casino and it appeared to be safe. The room was very clean and the breakfast was also tasty with a lot of different options including cereal, pancakes, biscuits, gravy, eggs, and cinnamon buns. We didn't swim, but we did walk out to the pool area and it was well maintained. My only complaint would be the paper thin walls and we could easily hear our neighbors next door. Other than that, I'd definitely recommend this hotel and I would stay here again.

The good: very close to the casino. The walk is about 5 minutes and crossing the street is no big deal. The hotel is a typical HI Express and was just fine for sleeping and a shower. The tv even was HD which was a surprise. I didn't have a problem with noise around me.
The not so good: overpriced for an HI Express but it is because of the location so I get it. There was a semi wet wash rag hanging from the shower rod so that was pretty disgusting. The breakfast isn't fantastic but is edible...barely. Oh, and the employees aren't overly friendly so don't expect tremendous service. Of course, this is a HI Express in the middle of nowhere...

Drove to Bryson City from Georgia to see the Model Railroad Train Museum. Decided to check out Harrah's Hotel and Casino in Cherokee. The hotel was booked solid, so we went across the street to the Holiday Inn Express. The king size bed was great and the room was cool, quiet and clean. The bathroom could use a little updating, but was clean and roomy.........no pedestal sinks that have no room for your stuff! The price was a third of what it would have been in the casino and included a free breakfast! Had a nice dip in the pool and spent the night in the casino eating and drinking at Brio Italian (very good) and walking around. Check out was a breeze......would stay here again.

The hotel is across the street from the hotel but its a nightmare getting out of the parking lot. Once I saw the location I really didn't want to lose my parking space to go out to eat. The hotel staff was accommodating to me when I needed a frig which was good but I would not now if I got one until I checked in. The room was great not a lot of good channels on TV. The hot breakfast bar consisted of cinnamon rolls and turkey sausage on Saturday. But Sunday we had powdered eggs, bacon and turkey sausage so yummy NOT!!!! The only problem I had on checking out was not having a detailed receipt with the taxes included. Once I got home I checked my bank account to find 30.00 added to my bill with no explanation on the receipt about how much was the taxes for the room. Since the hotel is on a busy highway be careful crossing the room because like another reviewer said their is not cross walk near the hotel. The nearest cross walk is at the Fairfield Inn which has a bigger parking lot and thier own cross walk.

This location is in desparate need of remodeling. The cooling and heating units do not 'condition' the air adequately. Our room was consistenly damp and either too hot or too cold. The hotel was sold out both nights of our stay; the hotel has one luggage cart. The staff had to be reminded of membership amenities and was seen multiple times gathering for free breakfast and smoking around the pool. We will not stay at this location again.

We have stayed at several Cherokee area hotels. This is the best one yet. Friendly front desk people. Rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The most comfortable bed and pillows that I have had at a hotel in a long time. Super good morning breakfast with everything you could ask for. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. Just across the street from Harrah's Hotel and Casino Resort. Close to downtown Cherokee and lots of attractions.
