“Gorgeous Views & Waterfall”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

Allow yourself plenty of time to enjoy this well kept park. We were a group consisting of young children, teens and adults and everyone loved it. We walked up to Chimney Rock which is a steep long climb up a winding stairway but very doable. The views are amazing and there is a sense of accomplishment and pride when you reach the top. We rewarded the kids with ice cream at the Sky Lounge and bought souvenirs. Some of our group continued on up and climbed to Exclamation Point and said the view was pretty much the same. We took the elevator back down just to see what it was like. It is fully enclosed with nothing to see but the cut through tunnel to the elevator from ground level is worth seeing. There is some information along the walls about the construction. We also hiked the trail to the waterfall. It is a pleasant walk along a scenic shaded path. The waterfall is breathtaking. We were able to climb down to it from some large boulders and get our feet wet which felt great after hiking all day!

“valley views /water fall”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

I found this to be an amazing state park .Climb the steps up to the top or ride up in elevator 26 stories high .The views of the valley & lake below excellent .Great photo shots of scenery & flag landing .But this is halfway (2880 ft,) by all means if possible go alway to the top (3000 ft,) THE VIEW IS UNBELIEVEABLE. A must see . Then hike to Hickory Nut Falls was great going up & back. The falls are well worth the effort to see this wonderful site .Then back down the trail to Chimney Rock for lunch . Try Ginneys resturant ,good home cooking reasonable priced .

“WOW-- excellent hikes, great views”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

Amazing state park, if you aren't in great shape, take the elevator and then walk around to the views.. if you are in medium shape, elevator up and walk out to the falls...if you are totally into the steep hike experience, walk up and down.. then back to Chimney Rock for dinner or lunch!

“Breath Taking!”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

The whole family enjoyed this adventure. Kids age, 8 and 12. The views are spectacular. This is God's country. We climbed to the top, Exclamation Point. It was a tough climb for this out of shape dad, but I was able to do. And, I was glad I did. Next time, we are going to picnic. The views are amazing. We took a jaunt down to Hickory Nut Falls. This was the longest trail, but the easiest. The water at the falls was refreshingly cold! We filled up our water bottles and the kids took a little swim. Rocky mountain fresh water!

The Finger of God is evident...
