Upon driving through the gate we were shocked that it was $15 per person. We asked where the hiking trails were and was told at the gate to continue driving a mile up the road and follow signs. That was not correct. He was directing us on up to the rock I guess. As soon as you drive through the gate you will see a parking lot on the left at a little animal place and Four Seasons Trail is on the right. We began there. Gorgeous trail. Woodsy, green, rooty, rocks, bridges, wooden steps. This trail had it all. Loved it. Pretty steep at times. This dead ended at the Hickory Nut Falls Trail. Turn right and it lead us to the falls. It was amazing. Got in the water, took pics. Came back and followed the Hickory Nut trail the other way onto Chimney Rock. LOTS LOTS of steps. Didn't think it would ever end. Pretty difficult endurance wise. Maybe its just because we had already been hiking uphill for an hour. The views were amazing. Had a place to sit, eat, drink. Very nice. Then made our hike back down. Much quicker coming down.

What a great place! Our family has been there a few times and love every visit. During this trip 3 of the 5 of us climbed to the top of Exclamation Point. Fantastic views from all points! Exhilarating and awesome. We also hiked the Hickory Falls Trail and were impressed with the over 400ft. waterfall. The elevator is one fun way to reach the Rock, and the ice cream café is a great feature hidden up there! There are other trails to cater to varying skill levels and a schedule of nature activities available for children and adults.

Amazing views! Great trails. Best of all was the waterfall. About a mile and a half round trip hike and you can actually climb down next to the fall! So worth the trip!

Climb the Chimney Rock and feel top of the world. Then go to the waterfall for a magical experience. Great place to visit. Make a day out of climbing and hiking. If you can't climb, the rock is relatively accessible by elevator.

You have got to go to Chimney Rock which is about 40 minutes outside of Asheville. The views are outstanding you can see for about 75 miles with mountains and Lake Lure spread out in front of you. The first level-Chimney Rock is 26 stories up and offers a breathtaking view. If you are brave and don't mind walking up the stairs there are two more levels taking you higher into the mountain. There are two gift shops as well as a restaurant on the property. The elevator was working when we were there so we did not have to climb all of those stairs!
