Upon driving through the gate we were shocked that it was $15 per person. We asked where the hiking trails were and was told at the gate to continue driving a mile up the road and follow signs. That was not correct. He was directing us on up to the rock I guess. As soon as you drive through the gate you will see a parking lot on the left at a little animal place and Four Seasons Trail is on the right. We began there. Gorgeous trail. Woodsy, green, rooty, rocks, bridges, wooden steps. This trail had it all. Loved it. Pretty steep at times. This dead ended at the Hickory Nut Falls Trail. Turn right and it lead us to the falls. It was amazing. Got in the water, took pics. Came back and followed the Hickory Nut trail the other way onto Chimney Rock. LOTS LOTS of steps. Didn't think it would ever end. Pretty difficult endurance wise. Maybe its just because we had already been hiking uphill for an hour. The views were amazing. Had a place to sit, eat, drink. Very nice. Then made our hike back down. Much quicker coming down.
