The views were breathtaking, or maybe it was the steps! No matter, wonderful state park staffed with friendly folks at the ticket booth, gift shop, elevator, and along the trails. Take water with you, and make sure you visit Exclamation Point and Hickory Nut Falls. Plan on 4 hours minimum, longer if your schedule allows. Truly a gem!

We rode up in the elevator, but walked down so as not to miss any of the beauty of the park. We walked all the other trails, except for the Four Seasons. Our legs just couldn't do anymore. There are a lot of stairs to get to Exclamation Point, and it was pretty hard on us. When we go back, we will skip this climb.

Spend the day if you can, or a few hours. Spectacular vistas, interesting historical facts, well planned out hiking trails, cool in the mountain elevator, fun and friendly staff, rockclimbing clinic, great picnic areas. . .and did I mention the view from the top? Such a great State Park. Fun.

My wife loves that movie. I took her here for our 9th anniversary trip. Now she loves me more. Beautiful scenery. Highly recommend you make the hike up to Exclamation Point. Lots of steps, but worth it for the majestic view
