My wife, myself and a close friend had just finished a grueling four mile hike from Worlds Edge down to Lake Lure. We were exhausted, hungry and very thirsty! Stopped by Medinas for a recovery lunch and we really enjoyed it. We sat outside, and as we had a small dog along that also was thirsty, the owner saw to it to promptly provide a water bowl for him! The setting is great since you can see the dramatic rock wall of Chimney Rock State Park literally across the street and also people watch. Fortunately the spot is just far enough off the main drag to not be disturbed by cars. I had the steak sand which with au jus on a toasted bun. Overall very good. The only thing to improve it would be to make the meat slices smaller and to use less salt in the au jus. My wife had a salad with roasted chicken. The salad was great, though the chicken was overcooked. Our hiking buddy had the whitefish sandwhich and we heard no complaints. Our server, Yuliana, was great. Good sense of humor, very attentive to our need for iced tea carafe refills. Definitely a place to consider when in Chimney Rock.
